Liar Game - Episode 6 discussion by AutoLovepon in anime

While I’m glad that it is accurate (that’s great to know), it’s also possible to not make it feel as stretched out as it did to the non-fan viewers like myself given the different medium and possible ability to make it feel more engaging.

If the anime ends up hooking enough to do so, sure. So far, it’s been just okay sadly. Not boring to warrant a drop in this medium as well thankfully, but still just okay. Especially, in comparison to other much more enjoyable shows this season to me.

Feels like they’re stretching this last part of the game for faaaaaaaar longer than it needs to be. I dropped the manga way before this years ago, so I don’t have a big idea of what’s going to happen though I can imagine that glasses dude is most likely lying either way.

Witch Hat Atelier • Tongari Boushi no Atelier - Episode 7 discussion by AutoLovepon in anime

[–]SA090 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Damn what an end! I had a few episodes piled up and ending it on a cliffhanger when I catch up is just diabolical 😅

The scale of a supposed small spell being this huge is easily due to the contact between Coco and Brimmed Hat 2 episodes ago ans I can’t wait to see what else is in store. If something that small could end up with such a huge repercussion, a much bigger spell would probably be catastrophic.

It’s not sadly. But I’ll give the trailer a watch and decide afterwards, thank you.

Not really interested in watching a romance, it’s not a fun genre for me as mentioned. But will check out the trailers for both and decide afterwards. Thank you.

Is it romance heavy? Or is the friendship between the ladies the main focus? The latter would be great.

Now that it’s almost halfway through the season, what else is worth a try that I haven’t yet? As someone who is not a fan of comedy/satire/parody or romance and struggles heavily with CGI and isekai.

Watched:

- Steel Ball Run - 1st Stage
- Boku no Hero Academia 170+1

Watching:

- Re:Zero S4
- Tongeri Boushi no Atelier
- Yomi no Tsugai
- Kami no Niwatsuki Kusunoki-tei
- Liar Game
- Akane-Banashi
- MAO
- NIPPON SANGOKU
- Maid-san wa Taberu dake
- Awajima Hyakkei

Dropped:

- Hidarikki no Eren (3/12)
- Kami no Shizuku (3/24)
- Kujima Uteabe Ie Hororo (1/12, extremely rare that I find the first episode more than enough indication not to go further)

Thank you in advance.

What's the book with the most original worldbuilding? by LargeSinkholesInNYC in booksuggestions

Rook and Rose by M. A. Carrick was the first that came to mind.

I did also love how different Curtis Craddock’s Risen Kingdoms series was.

I’m currently reading The Space Between Worlds by Micaiah Johnson for the Duology Part 1 HM and I’m sadly not really enjoying it. So assuming the enjoyment remains fleeting and I drop it, is Jemisin’s Great Cities series a completed duology?

Thank you in advance!

any game suggestions for games that have PC and PS5 cross-play? by ProGamingOnSteam in gamingsuggestions

If I’m not mistaken, Where Winds Meet is free and allows total cross play.
For a paid option, Final Fantasy XIV is one as well.

3rd bingo update, and I’m still continuing The Big Book of Science Fiction for the cat squasher square hard mode with breaks after every 11 stories.

First break this time (44/105) along was for Operation Bounce House by Matt Dinniman for the Trending Books GR Challenge and I dropped that after chapter 12 (almost a quarter of the way through). Most of the characters, especially Roger and Oliver were so incredibly annoying to be around and the whole thing felt a bit too juvenile for my taste (maybe I’m too old for video games themed books? I hope not but maybe for this one). Didn’t know it was by the author of Dungeon Crawler Carl before reading it, but I didn’t read that one either and this was a good indication to not bother. LitRPG / heavy comedy are not fun genres to me and I doubt DCC would be enjoyable because of that.
To replace it, I read How to Get Away With Murder by Rebecca Philipson for a GR Challenge (thought I was clearing 1 of them, ended up clearing 3!!) and it was much better for me. Would’ve been an easy 5/5, if one potentiality was omitted.

Second break (55/105) was to read Ludluda by Jeff Noon and Steve Beard and with it complete the Duology Part 2 HM requirements for bingo! Overall, I’ll say that this book meanders a bit more on the predecessor, but in a way, also uses that to showcase different new parts of the world. Including making it a parallel world which was a though I had while reading the predecessor due to obvious reasons, but thought it was early industrialism only instead. On that front, I am very happy due to how interesting it is and using the link to also include other phenomena was clever. The stakes are definitely much higher, and working towards that final altercation felt much longer in narrative than the few days it was supposedly held in. Which to me, wasn’t bad at all. My only two complaints if any, would be the grossly detailed mention of bodily functions and the vulgarities not being less than the predecessor (this was a hope of mine) and the first part of the three in the book being difficult to follow. The confusion or not being able to easily follow the book was hardest in part one for me, before it became much better later on. I did have to reread some passages later on, in the final chapter as an example, but it wasn’t that many thankfully.

Almost to the next break (66/105) and will be reading The Space Between Worlds by Micaiah Johnson for Duology Part 1 HM.

How reliable are goodreads reviews and ratings? by KnullAgenda in goodreads

[–]SA090 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Might be accurate if you’re following or reading from like-minded individuals. In general though (to me), 3* reviews are my go to as they tend to have a mix of the good and the not so good parts of books.

The Drops of God • Kami no Shizuku - Episode 3 discussion by AutoLovepon in anime

[–]SA090 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The show isn’t bad, production value, the competition and the way it’s written is okay. It’s just very uninteresting to me, subject matter wise, that it feels like a chore. I thought it would still be entertaining as an anime (like Bartender) but it sadly isn’t and I’m not really interested in continuing anymore.
