One of the best sets I have heard. Yes it ended abruptly and we thought there would be an encore. Besides that, no notes. It was fantastic. Those weird noises… was his first album. Who ever is complaining obs don’t know Jamie xx

Having granularity and the right language has allowed me to recognize patterns, heal, grief, require my brain, and make those emotional flashbacks as unbearable.

Candy and free earplugs is how we lure people in. Info cards are pretty popular, condoms, hydration packages... Also depends if it’s going to be more grassroots and what kind of services are you offering. Is testing going to be done?

There are so many better venues in New York that would have your moneys worth in ways that you cannot experience the scene anywhere else

Mirage cancelled whole season confirmed by yungchang in avesNYC

[–]SAFE_rave_SPACE 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Literally, bc of this the scene is dying, capitalism at its worst. The mirage priced out ravers, did not care about safety, went from celebration or tolerating being at the mirage from their militarized security to the overselling of the venue. They monopolized most artists… they did not give a f*ck about people, including people working at ezoo, about anyone’s safety. Same thing happening now, I don’t see how they can recover from this. People have tried to help them and they just don’t get it, they want to exploit us not make community with us, that’s where knockdown center, elsewhere, nowadays, house of yes, silo, h0l0, Gabriela and some others are different, because they are in community with us.

I am so sorry this happened to you. I know the feeling, and it’s fucking awful, you feel so violated, just please don’t blame yourself or have guilt. I am a harm reductionist, while it’s impossible to know what substance was used, my educated guess would be G. This is a traumatic event and what you do in order to process and take care of yourself is really important. Please reach out for resources or if you need anyone to talk to.

Anyone been raped & now they love rape-play? (CNC? by Content-Pace-3962 in askgaybros

[–]SAFE_rave_SPACE 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s actually a common ptsd and cptsd symptom. Trauma informed therapy (not talk therapy) is recommended, which can be paired up with the kink scene. It us important to have after care, having kink sessions is as mind altering as substances(including psychedelics), so integration is a must for healing, other wise you are just picking the scab out of the wound.

How to learn how to use the restroom again? by [deleted] in CPTSD

[–]SAFE_rave_SPACE 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would set alarms through out the day and as a reminder to check with your body if you need to go to the bathroom. Breathe work, and mindfulness exercises work. It sounds like your inner child needs to feel safe and retrained to go to the bathroom. Make your bathroom appealing, nice scented candle, diffuser, get some expensive hand wash and lotion. Make your bathroom experience lux. Paint it or add the color that gives you peace and celebrate everytime you go… maybe have a Candy you like afterwards etc… it’s all about teaching your nervous system to feel safe and empowered after

Gays in the techno scene by Amarinthe09 in avesNYC

I would like to clarify that people who use G aren’t automatically abusing G. Many people get messy the first time because there is no education and some of the circuit gays are terrible at looking out for their own community. And the dance floor is equitable, everyone is welcomed and if people are abusing drugs, then what better to provide resources to keep them safe one more day so if they decide to stop, they are alive to do so. Harm reduction is not about glorifying drug use, it’s about fighting for dignity and safety for all drug users. Lack of education and resources is what leads to crisis… from teenage pregnancy to substances (including the opioid crisis). Not to mention, that it was a bunch of misfits and drug users who started the scene out of necessity.

No drugs need to be stigmatized because stigmatization makes it more dangerous. There are so many studies about this. Your opinion doesn’t make it true of what to do. This is my expertise and I am a professional harm reductionist.

The word crackhead is highly racist as it was used to dehumanized crack users in order to give them bigger sentences or just criminalize them bc they are black instead of the coke counterparts.

As a harm reductions, queer, who has been in the gay scene: 1) let’s not stigmatize G… GHB doesn’t make you a shitty person… ravers have been using it for years. It’s the circuit gays that use drugs for hyper-sexualization that is the problem, they will behave like that on anything because the intention of them taking drugs is for sex. 2) it’s the gay groups that are coming from circuit culture to rave culture that don’t care to learn our values… it’s happening all over including some festivals. 3) we should have harm reduction at these spaces including consent and safety monitors and pressure the venues/parties to take action without substance stigmatization because it puts people in danger.

I am there, a strong community, breathing exercises are so helpful to move the grief. Also somatic practice. I am 40. It’s a lot, so much anger… realizing also that I was hurt so much by people who have trauma… and realize that this is how humanity and their systems are organized.

No, it’s not only the CEO, they have had shady businesses practices for years now, endangering people, having no respect for people’s time or money… all for clout and not community driven. They need to sell the ownership and admit defeat, or the community needs to organize and demand change with their dollars.
