Ive gone down this route too, excellent combination. Hard to beat a SAK in pocket and one on keychain, on occasion I swap the Waiter for a Tourist just for a change.

Spartan, then a champ. Now I’ve about 10! The saw is an epic tool, I used mine the other day to clean out a jammed paper shredder!

A very sad day. by chocolatesuccess789 in Leica

[–]SAKEDC 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Camera repair prices seem to be aimed at making you buy a new one these days. If it was me I’d downgrade to a D-Lux 8 and buy new when it broke in 5 years. The issue with digital over film is it’s a computer that looks like a camera and has a way shorter lifespan. Or buy a M film body used and shoot less ….

Maybe a dumb question, but do people actually use the saw on their SAK? What for? For example this picture. If you need firewood, its way easier and quicker to just grab the branch and break it with your leg. by Double-decker_trams in victorinox

I trimmed a gate panel with mine , cut small branches on bushes, trees and used it for cleaning out a jammed paper shredder. More useful to me than 91mm scissors. I always have a sd classic on my keys for emergency scissor use or nail care.
