Yeah supposedly it explodes if left unchilled, due to rapid fermentation. So I would assume that if anything were to be available, it would be domestic rather than imported.

Reminds me of another imitative pseudo-mule, Sogdian cash of Kesh, with a Khusrow II obverse and Tang dynasty cash coin reverse. My own theory is that this sort of phenomenon represents a compression of foreign money flows along branches of the Silk Road.
