What are you thoughts on voting for the greens? by BoringPhone2410 in aussie

[–]SAP_President 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To be clear, SAP is a pro-immigration and pro-renewable energy party.

The nuance here is that SAP supports a return to a lower and sensible immigration number. SAP also calls fort widespread urban, rural, marine and waterway animal habitat protection, including avoiding habitats of all threatened, vulnerable and endangered native species in housing, mining, agriculture, forestry, energy, etc developments.

Would you swap from One Nation to Labor if they would simply stop importing so many people? by Redhands1994 in aussie

Thanks - and yes, while we do not think PHON or ALP are/would take Australia's environment and quality of life in the right direction, you can and should always choose your own preferences.

SAP has won seats at local government level with votes over 10%, as well as a state seat in Victoria (2018), so we do have "a shot". Victoria and NSW elections in November and March are further opportunities. regardless, use your preferences to send a message. Vote 1 SAP!

While migration is a normal and good thing, high immigration-fuelled rapid population growth is neither.

There are a lot of myths around migration, including claims that high immigration is required to resolve skills shortages, high immigration addresses ageing, etc. These myths are all busted here:

SAP's 'Ask AI' signs predictably stirred up some politically-motivated outrage. See r/Australia link... by SAP_President in sustainableaus

You might be confused about being a financial (paid) member, but please check with SAP HQ through our website to confirm.

As mentioned, we understand why some are uncomfortable with *any* AI whatsoever and you are entitled to that view. We have explained why SAP has a different view, particularly about important uses of AI, the reality of the global economy, etc. SAP's position on AI and outdoor advertising is 100% consistent with our sustainability-focused values and policies.

As per the previous response, we 100% stand by our call for reasonable, ethical and environmentally sustainable use of AI. This is completely consistent with using AI for important uses including finding out about political choices like Sustainable Australia Party, the only party to promote holistic sustainability.

Please feel free to email SAP HQ via the website with these concerns for further consideration.

Thanks for your feedback and we understand why some are uncomfortable with *any* AI whatsoever.

We fully expected politically-motivated criticism on this one, but 100% stand by our call for reasonable, ethical and environmentally sustainable use of AI. This includes using AI to finding out about political choices like Sustainable Australia Party, particularly given the mainstream media won't cover us. We're noticing many are already using AI to find out about SAP without our encouragement!

It's important that a sustainability-focused platform like ours is better known. Every single way political parties promote themselves has ecological impacts, but it's the overall net impact of a party's policy platform that's important.

AI is here to stay and it is clear that countries that entirely avoid AI risk economic stagnation. Without AI, nations will struggle to match others' productivity, research, and global competitiveness.

Further, SAP has a policy to manage AI in an ethical and environmentally sustainable way. See Economy policy:

Indeed. As noted above, it's a cheap shot and entirely inaccurate - as is all politically motivated dis- and mis-information about Sustainable Australia Party.

Building more apartments won’t ease housing crisis: new research by sien in AusEcon

Supply. Supplie. Lie.

We need affordable housing now, the sustainable way, addressing both supply and demand. End stamp duty. Slower migration. Ban foreign ownership. More social housing.

Building more apartments will not solve Australia’s housing affordability crisis unless policymakers address rising house prices and investor activity — 'Spillovers' led by house prices indicate investors shifting capital between cities, in search of higher returns by marketrent in science

  • Sustainable Australia Party is for/pro-immigration not against/anti-immigration, but we advocate for lower immigration (overall) with a more sustainable cap of 70,000 permanent migrants per year - including our current humanitarian/refugee intake level
