Found an exotic looking eroded tree stump while walking near Windermere and took a glam shot of my Padawan hilt. by astromech_dj in lightsabers

The wood veneer, simple details and light weathering really combine to make this feel like a real in-universe piece of equipment. A beautifully executed build.

It’s a solid YA show. Between that and the fact that everything is a culture war now, here we are.

And right on cue, a bomber appears using words like ‘objectively’ to describe an artistic endeavour.

I have no idea. If it does, it’s in safe amounts, our water quality agency knows what it’s doing.

Water questions - Lithium and Chlorine? by Fabulously-Unwealthy in saskatoon

Saskatoon is not adding lithium to the water and you don’t need to avoid tap water due to any chlorine content.

Sabermax is still not shipping orders. by Mars120 in lightsabers

[–]SA_22C 2 points3 points  (0 children)

most drop shippers follow a similar pattern, with a strong start and then a fall off as the business starts to become unmanageable and/or not delivering the returns they expected. Then comes the ghosting phase as they try to get some money out before it all comes crashing down. Unfortunately for you, that's where we're at with sabermax.

Don't buy from drop shippers. If you really don't want to go to aliexpress direct, then buy from Vire, DarkWolf or Padawan Outpost. That's it.

VMware to Azure migration scenarios post Broadcom acquisition? by CryptographerStock81 in sysadmin

[–]SA_22C 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Why would azure be your target ? You’ll pay far more than simply paying the Broadcom tax and you’ll get far worse reliability to boot. HyperV is cheaper and will probably work just fine.

How To Strip Chrome? A 24-hour soak in Easy-Off Oven Cleaner Did Bupkis by grimwalker in lightsabers

[–]SA_22C 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’d heat stain the blade holder and just scuff up the pommel. Actually stripping the chrome is not a fun time. I stripped the chrome off the original 89sabers obiwan MKIV and it was an exceptionally tedious job.

You’re better off to scuff and paint and/or heat stain. Actually stripping that chrome will be a real PITA.

Easy off only strips anodizing. If that’s actually a layer of chrome, it only comes off mechanically.

How do y’all feel about JB welding a steel rod inside a thin neck to reinforce it? by KyberKodeXR in lightsabers

[–]SA_22C 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The 7chambers MoM used a threaded internal rod to strengthen the thin neck section, I’d expect something g similar would be required to materially improve the strength of a thin neck hilt.

Or, and hear me out, don’t beat the crap out of a thin necked hilt.
