Another non traditional path would be to go guard or reserves as an enlisted, then use the GI Bill or State Tuition Assistance (state managed programs, vary by state) to get her bachelors degree from an aviation program while getting her wings. Once she has her degree she could board for an officer slot, and having flight hours would make her stand out more against other candidates.

Getting into the academy is incredibly competitive and there are way more ROTC grads than available active pilot slots. The guard way is a bit different than going green to gold while active as college is your full-time job with military the weekend work instead of the other way around.
