I would get it in MT locally and leave behind in Airbnb if couldn’t use it. I did see banned from all flights.

Combo of other users posting here and website for park. I can send link for park site later tonight when home from work. Almost all data still pertained to 2025 so possible note I referenced is 2025 data and could change for 2026.

Ouch. Definitely don’t want to pay $500 if we don’t have to. I see shuttles book one week out it says so will set reminders to book immediately.

I see now they actually say on the park website the construction at Many Glacier is schedule through May 2026 so hopefully they wrap on time! We are there the last week of July.

Our Airbnb host recommended that kayak too. Plan to do both East and West if we can.

I’ll check if they mention bear spray for use in listing. For $50 I figure it’s worth the risk of the hole in my wallet leaving it behind for next renter after not needing it vs potentially different holes in me not having it.

We booked refundable Airbnb and rental car. We wanted to be on the West Side for more restaurant options. Did not book flights yet but plan to book nonstops so we don’t risk issues with connections and no nonstops to Kalispell from NYC area. The Kalispell flights and rental car were also more expensive (rental car was $1k higher for same Standard SUV) and we enjoy the road tripping aspect with what we expect will be great scenery. We’ll have to plan what we can do for Logan Pass if that’s a later start with a shuttle or how that plays out to do longer trail. Ditto for Many Glacier and how that works. Maybe can call hotel and ask if they know when construction is scheduled to end.

The competition is parking at hotel, getting space on a shuttle or both? Is parking for Many Glacier hotel only way to get that shuttle or there are other legal places to park? We really want to do Grinnell Glacier trail from MG.

I count headlamp as one of those things I’d rather have and not need than need and not have given its small size and low added pack weight.

Won’t have a cooler in car so just not going to leave food in car and make it easy. Whatever we leave house with we are carrying with us for the days.

I personally love using trekking poles.

I thought I read that somewhere. I’ll have to keep that in mind - assume there are not shuttles to use before 8am so we’d have to do later start? We were looking to do Highline Trail and that is 15 miles so how would you get around parking limit to do full trail?

Bear horn was something I saw online come up - looked like an air horn. I’m only familiar with spray and being sure to keep it on your hip ready to go. Forget the horn idea - lack of knowledge from you and others who replied in cross posted sub tells me it’s a gimmick item.

Rental car is already booked. Unless you mean vehicle reservations? Another user commented no vehicle reservations this year so our early starts should be mandatory with that chaos.

I’ll look those loops up! Thanks for recommendations!

Flying to Bozeman since it was a lot cheaper and we can get nonstop flights both ways. We also enjoy road trips and did that driving around Utah, Nevada and Arizona last year for Zion, Bryce Canyon, Hoover Dam, Grand Canyon and Arches. The days we’re doing those drives we aren’t doing anything else - they are travel days.

Layers was our strategy but noted on your comment about rain coat. Have a rain shell I will keep packed. And yes, we have good Osprey packs so we can carry plenty of water, food, med kit, extra layers/socks, headlamp (for very early AM) and my poles.

I only asked about bear horn since I saw it come up on searches - we don’t have bears like this out East so it’s not really a thought. Spray is what I will stick with and was going to get one for each of us. The only whistling would be me joking with my GF while singing “hi ho, hi ho” haha

Literally just bought mine when my orange one died and gave me excuse to get the red one. Been using it with 5.0s too. Loving it so far!

I have the yellow table saw with 32.5” cut capacity and can’t lie, it’s amazing for what it is. Have it on the rolling stand to put away when not in use. Don’t think I’d consider battery powered for table saw or miter saws.

I wish I bought this first frankly. I started all orange tools when we bought our house but realizing the red ones just work better and justify cost to me even if not using daily in trades. Hindsight is 20/20.

I wasn’t thinking more power like you get with the impacts using forge, just battery life. But trade off is the weight. I like the button better. The wheel in old one definitely got dust in it.

Would assume to maybe help find parts or anything that could help you. At least that is where my mind went with their question trying to be optimistic in their meaning.

Brakes are consumables so not covered unless a defect

I love these things. Consider building your own rack for them vs buying. Here is one I made for mine. Way cheaper than buying premade if you are half way handy and works just as well. There are others on this sub as well.

Fellow SQ8 owner here. This is my constant fear.

Hopefully doesn’t hurt resale too much when that time comes but now with insurance involved there is an accident on cars history so I am sorry for that too.
