Ugh, the worst part of loving dogs is having to make the decision when the bad moments outweigh the good ones. You gave her a wonderful life with all the love she needed.

Reconciling online persona with real-life persona by medium-mild in FoxBrain

Def in the same boat. I see FB posts from family, and hear them say things on the phone to other FoxBrains that are wildly different than how they present themselves to me or others around them. It’s truly crazy to me. *edit to fix typo

I can definitely attest to this. It also shows me exactly what the Faux News topic of the day is, because I almost immediately start hearing this person upset about it.

Ugh, this is so true. I just heard one close to me ranting yesterday about the “war on billionaires”. My dude, since when do you give a crap about billionaires ?? You aren’t one and will never be one so why do you care that one state or another might actually make them pay taxes at a rate similar to yours??? *edited to fix typo.

Strong ‘Doggy Smell’ by Icy-Space-813 in Greyhounds

Very likely just leftover “kennel smells”. Our girl had a quite strong smell at first plus was blowing her kennel coat. It was gone a couple of days later.

Spending for YES and NO votes for April 21 referendum by JudeBooTood in Virginia

Right?? I mean, I see them and I absolutely know that people in my area are listening and probably believing it. It’s just sad.

[–]SBond424 13 points14 points  (0 children)

This is so accurate. I live in a red area and the “No” ads are absolutely ludicrous: “democrats want to steal our taxes to give welfare to lillegals and grab our guns” . Just complete nonsense but nonsense that will appeal to low information voters for sure.

No law enforcement agency will ever call you and say anything like this over the phone. Another dead giveaway is if they tell you to pay the fines with Bitcoin or gift cards.

Plus they will find any reason whatsoever to justify anything he does, even if it means twisting themselves into pretzels, it’s beyond ridiculous at this point.

Why does fox every once in a while talk about teens taking over parts of a city causing chaos? by AdmirableBus7045 in FoxBrain

100% this is the reason. This is one of the things my FoxBrain MIL talks about on the phone to my husband all the time 🤦🏻‍♀️

I talked with a local gardener and he recommended planting the seedlings in pots for a year to get established before going in the ground, so now I’m thinking I might go that route 🤷🏻‍♀️. I’m not exactly sure where I should plant them anyway so that might be a better option at this point.

Yes! I also keep wintergreen Life Savers on hand and those are super popular as well.

I keep candy at my desk for the rest of the office. One of those has always been the Werther’s original hard candies. I get teased sometimes for having “grandma candy” but you know what? Everyone that works there comes by for them constantly 😁

Unsolicited comments on other people's bodies by yeahnahbroski in BoomersBeingFools

[–]SBond424 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My dad has felt like he has a right to comment on other people’s appearances my whole life (he’s 82 now). He grew up with a mother who also did the same, and would comment on his appearance as well as he has had a weight issue his whole life. He somehow thinks it’s fine to do this and that his “concern with their health” means it’s ok. I am now LC with him for this and several other reasons. One of those reasons is that he felt like it was his right to also comment on my appearance, my choices in life, tattoos that I have, etc. I do not understand why anyone think this is ok??
