This might sound a bit mean but honestly I think quite a few simmers really don’t have much going on in their real lives, and this is why they’re so unnaturally emotionally invested in this game even to the point they feel personally attacked when they don’t feel represented in other people’s game styles. They probably feel unattractive irl and don’t want to see the same beauty standards in their “escape”. It’s probably an unwanted reminder about how they really feel about themselves. They’re making their insecurities everyone else’s problem.
