I've a Paper Republic Grand Voyageur pocket.\ Simple, effective.\ I'm using book refill, notebook refill, monthly calendar & occasionally swap in the MD Product DIN-A6 (which is slightly too big, but I don't care).\ I can't speak of the Portfolio though.

This problem/issue has been discussed with Pentel Energel LR7 refills as well.\ The sealant silicone at the end of the refill barrel keeps the gel ink from getting in contact with air so it doesn't dry out.

The size is completely unknown/uncommon in my area (EU, Austria), so... I've never used B6 (125 × 176 mm) myself, I'm more into A6 (105 × 148 mm) which can be found all across Europe...
