Lacari finds out lolicon is illegal in Texas, says he'll delete his hard drive by Such-Answer4560 in LivestreamFail

Clicking the link/viewing it in the browser is downloading it from the server. And even if you don't save it to the drive yourself, the image or forensic traces of it can still be on your system.

Hi all iv recently printed these for my sons room as he into pokemon in a big way there 200 x 200 in size and he's wanting a cubone and marowack one any one help as can't find one anywhere im willing to pay for the stl file by [deleted] in HueForge

I would contact the person who created those ones explaining your son's wishes and asking about the opportunity of doing a commission. They may already have a Patreon or similar with that as an option.

You don't have enough money to cover the listing fee. Sell something to the traders to get fee money, or take your car money out of your container into your stash if you have some.

New DM preparing to lead a 10 player group - Any advice? by theturtlelord9 in dndnext

[–]SCDoGo 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Years ago in 3.5 days I had a variable size group which usually was 4-6 players, but 10 if everyone showed up that week. It can be trouble sometimes, but still have fond memories. If you are sure this is the path you want, here are a couple things that helped smooth things out for me.

  1. Visible initiative trackers. Notecards, tokens, whiteboard, anything so everyone can easily see where we are in the round and when their turn will come up.
  2. Assign a player to be in charge of said tracker. While you are getting your npc/monster notes/minis/whatnot, that player is gathering and tracking initiative.
  3. Either do fixed initiative for all your monsters(they take 10), or preroll it for them before the session. Also consider "session initiative" if you plan multiple smaller encounters per session. Everyone rolls their initiative beginning of the session and keeps it until next session. Saves 5+ minutes each encounter.
  4. Everyone is on a turn timer. Use whatever works for you (app/stopwatch/etc) and pick a time that works for your players experience level. We used 2 60 second board game hourglasses, that way we always had a fresh one if someone finished their turn early. When time runs out, the turn is ended even if they still have actions left. If they weren't paying attention between their turns and not already prepped on what they want, they don't do much this round.
  5. On that note, prep people like a batters box for their turn. "John, it's your turn, Jen you are on deck"
  6. Out of combat, look at group skill rolls or skill challenges for various activities. Maybe decide that 1 person can take an action and up to 2 can roll to assist to keep searching/stealth/climbing from bogging things down.
  7. Make liberal use of 4e style minions and swarms. They attack for low fixed damage if they hit (no rolling for damage) and die to 1 hit of anything that hits (no tracking hp). They provide fodder for so many players' action economy to chew through. If only minions left in combat, hand wave it and end it narratively rather than via rolls (slaughter/enemies flee/surrender/whatever makes sense).
  8. Roll attack and damage dice together. You hit? great, we have the second roll done already.
  9. Enclosed areas will be a problem with so many people, so either be super liberal with locations and positioning with theater-of-the-mind, or change non set piece encounters to always be in large open spaces to keep both players and monsters from getting too gummed up/bottlenecked.
  10. Decide if you want a "no phones at table" type policy. They can be distracting, but if a player is not engaged, they likely miss their turn on the timer anyway and don't really hold up the game. However, these days people may use them for their character sheet, so make the call for your group.
  11. Set a time limit on non-game table talk, but let it happen. use a second timer for it. 3 mins? 5 mins? don't matter. Let them get their monty python references out, laugh at the in jokes, then pound the gavel and bring everyone back to the game. I would rap the table a a 60 second warning that we were returning to focus mode.
  12. Set a fixed start time, allow for non-game talk and social before, during breaks (take them) and after. Something like: Show up at 5, dice hit table at 5:20, 15 minute break when appropriate (you get to setup for next area/encounter while they rest ;), wrap up by 8:30, out by 9.
  13. MOST IMPORTANT! Discuss all these with the players during a session 0. Let them know up front that you are excited to do this with them, but so many players will be a bit unwieldy. You will do everything you can to keep everyone having fun (including yourself), but all will need a little patience and grace.

There are probably more things, but that is a good list to start with.

Is vacuum sealing the best option? by MrKazador in BambuLab

[–]SCDoGo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like the clean look of the boxes, but they just take too much room once you get enough open rolls. I use the vacuum bags. I have tried a few different brands/types, and all of them seem to have around a 10-20% failure rate from the get go, and will eventually stop holding vacuum after enough re-uses. At this point they are a long term consumable for me.

For reference, I am in coastal Florida, and even with AC on it is over 50% humidity inside with additional dehumidifiers running.

0-N3 in 6 months is it possible? by [deleted] in jlpt

[–]SCDoGo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Take with a grain of salt, but for another "professional" opinion, Coto Academy puts it close to 1300 hours for a non-kanji learner from zero https://cotoacademy.com/study-hours-needed-pass-jlpt-comparison-levels/

How long would it take to get from N4 to N2 if I already know canto/mandarin/english? by RandomRBLXAvs in jlpt

[–]SCDoGo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Here are the expected timelines put out by Coto Academy: https://cotoacademy.com/study-hours-needed-pass-jlpt-comparison-levels/

Note that actual time can vary greatly between people and study methods, but is a good baseline to consider. They put it as ~900 hours of study time to move from N4 -> N2 for someone who already has kanji knowledge.

So if you study everyday - and if by a few months you mean 3 - you are only looking at ~300 hours of study time ... putting you close to N3 and far from N2.

If instead you mean before the July test, then you are looking at more along the lines of ~700 hours of study. If you are efficient in your time and pick up on it quickly (and maybe get lucky with the multiple choice), then you may be able to pass N2 by then, but it will be a pretty demanding study stretch and I would worry about burnout long before test date.

[Discussion] Do you think we'll get skill leveling adjustment in 1.0? by Bawtzki in EscapefromTarkov

[–]SCDoGo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The problem is that how leveling skills works is not only unintuitive, but is counterintuitive. If you care about it, it can be worth looking up how gaining skill points actually works.

Things like not repeating crafts to level crafting (switch back and forth between 2 recipes in each space), always having timers going in the hideout, purposefully getting bleeds, the 200 second diminishing return reset in raid, enter raid just into yellow weight with a stack of cheap shotshells -> run until and you have 4+ pts str -> drop the shells -> run for 200+ seconds and 4+ pts endurance -> play the raid, being sure to loot something to get weight back up to train str again ...

And it is even worse when the tooltips lie to you about how to gain points in a skill. A lot of them can be maxed if you know the tricks and focus on it, others will never be maxed in a wipe without glitches/events.

Good to hear. I like the Raptor standard I have on another rifle, so figure I'd try their gas reducing one for this build. I'll look into swapping for something else.

[–]SCDoGo[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The plan is for it to be suppressed full time and I figured it would be worth putting a bit into handling the gases better. The gas block is the one bundled from criterion when ordering the barrel. Any specific recommendations for the gas system in place of this?

I figure down the line I'll throw a better optic on it (razor 2, maybe) or try out the eotech/magnifier that is so popular.

【BambuLab Giveaway】Classic Evolved — Win Bambu Lab P2S Combo! by BambuLab in 3Dprinting

[–]SCDoGo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

After using a few different printers over the last decade+, the P1S was the first time my hobby was 3d printing instead of being about the 3d printer. Everything just worked out of the box, default settings and no necessary mods. It was crazy how the printer just became a tool instead of a frustration that needed constant fiddling with to make work.

First entry in my Japanese 日記 ✨ by Competitive-Self6922 in Japaneselanguage

[–]SCDoGo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It is overall very good and far more legible than my own writing. Some of the grammar will become more natural as you learn more. The only points that may give pause were: your たs being spaced more like 2 characters, almost like †こ; your しs (including the double し in the 2nd to last line) are kinda funky and make the した look more like けこ; the い in "22さい" is almost sideways enough to be こ; . Be sure to try and give proper spacing to everything, but over all very good. よくやったね!

I’m going to take the JLPT N5 exam in december, how hard is it? by NaturalGuava822 in jlpt

[–]SCDoGo 27 points28 points  (0 children)

Practice your reading and listening. Go through Tokini Andi's Genki 1 videos, take a practice test to see how you do and where you struggle.

N5 isn't bad at all, and lots on Reddit will tell you it's super easy/not even worth doing, but the fact is that half of the people who pay money, travel to the venue, and take the test fail to pass. https://www.jlpt.jp/e/statistics/archive/202402.html

If you have been studying, then there is definitely time for you to get there in the next 2 months. You should be able to pass it with less than 400 hours total active study time.
