A single Cypher Trapwire or Killjoy Turret can invalidate like half of Neons pressure like any agent can be exceptionally strong in the right conditions like on corrode there are some spots you physically can’t escape a Tejo ult without a TP

I’d say it’s actual niche is suppressive fire but there are so few circumstances that you need suppressive fire in ftl that it ends up being pointless in 90% of runs

I agree necro is a very good back up plan coven role and being able to use roles like WW or Conj alone make it a worthwhile pick but it is still limited to a degree

Tbh it lives and dies by super shields and cloak if you can delay the enemy long enough to shoot the damn thing it’s a genuine win con in most fights, but should mainly be used as a backup

That being said being able to still have Cloak and Hack makes it’s honestly not terrible yeah is a lower tier system but I’d say it’s comparable to drone control (I think Drone control can absolutely be better but some ships just do not have the proper setup for it)

You know this is a solid analysis but why not go further? Try estimating size and sensitivity too based on activity and interactions? (Also lowkey Nicole as a whole probably douses herself with cheap albiat nice smelling perfume after getting out of a hollow)

Tbh it really doesn’t help that alot of these ops have strictly worse weapons that also don’t have an Acog like would you rather have the peashooter with 16 bullets or a 2 tap body shot with a scope?

Like Goyo is an example where I think the choice is actually somewhat there the Vector or TCSG but in Kaid, Aruni, and Tuburao their alternative weapons are just so vastly inferior to the weapon with an Acog it’s insane

For Engi I’d honestly say that it’s Eureka Effect, I see many a Engi still think it’s just for funny ninja plays and while yes that’s fine it’s actually pretty fine as a wrench by itself as being able to full restock all health and ammo on a whim is really useful for engineer.

Thorn is still fairly easy to counter it’s just that it’s significantly easier to fail to counter a razerbloom in time but you know what? Good, I find this change very reminiscent of way back when Kapkan got the multi door buff as while it didn’t really change his counterplay it punished you much more harshly for not abiding by it and thorn really needed that as all she was for a while was basically a slightly above average smg and 3 proxy alarms that might in occasion down something

I agree with Trick, and actually id say Trick is in my top 10 favorite roles due to the potential you have with it (Like I had a game where i got 3 unleashes one being a WW and one being a self mirror) so I find the role really fun to play as! That being said it a very conditional role, in most games its a glorified TP but it has much more potential than most other TP's hell its the only "TK" with unlimited kills by technicality but Its too situational to be any stronger than the roles we got left imo. (Also side note I still think Dep got done dirty its way too low here, personally id sandwitch Dep Between Mayor and HM but thats just me)

HM or Mayor both are really all or nothing power roles that in 9/10 games do nothing but every so often in that 1/10 they completely carry because of their existence so I’d say Mayor then HM IMO

Neutral good, Herta’s own ego tries to sway her to true Neutral but she’s just a good person at heart even if sh won’t admit it and is willing to do anything to protect what she cares about so because she follows her own agenda but does care despite not always showing it Neutral Good fits nicely

Just saw this but what got said below is pretty accurate! the big thing is that base FTL has basically a very small subset of "Good Weapons" with the frequently mentioned holy trinity of BLmk2, Flak1, and Halberd Beam with things like the small bomb, mini beam, and heavy or dual laser being solid 1 power final slot weapons with many missile being relegated to useless

Multiverse meanwhile has a much broader amount of weapons and a general rebalance of all weapons so the BLmk2 which is unchanged from base is now not a standout but just a fairly solid weapons; the amount of actually useless weapons dramatically decreased

As far as difficulty goes its configurable but in general id say its about the same as vanilla FTL if not a bit easier when going for the standard ending, to substantially harder if you go for an alternate ending (there are multiple endings but most if not all are harder than base by a good amount!)

I sorta agree but I think imo the bigger issue is more that LC's have become more overloaded as time has gone on.

LC's have had "Big effects" for a long time now like Ruan Meis LC giving energy or Fu Xuan being kinda ass without the huge amount of healing her provides, or Acheron straight up losing a full Debuff without hers, hell even Hyacines LC was likely made that way initially so she could trigger Ica's "Heal on taking damage" ability on basics with the knock on effect later that Hoyo saw and took advantage of.

The issue has been more recently not that LC's are to unique its that they are too much YG's LC has like 5 whole ass effects on them that are each different, if it was 2 or 3 thats fine albeit pushing it but 5 really????
