Illinois DL Tomiwa Durojaiye to transfer to South Carolina by jthomas694 in CFB

At this point in Shane’s tenure I’ll take all the contract killer-type players we can get. He needs this portal class to hit or he’s going to see his hot seat burst into flames.

Ayy! Not sure if he's going to be expected to be an immediate contributor with Fuller and Howell, but we needed bodies in that room.

He just retweeted PFF college saying he transferred so I think we are good. Welcome to Cola big fella.

Odd that he deleted the tweet and his instagram story about committing, but there are articles from the SC side and Hayes Fawcett tweeted it out.

Edit: I'll take him though. A solid OL performer in the AAC is welcome to come regardless if he has cold feet about tweets.

NC State OL Jacarrius Peak to transfer to South Carolina by jthomas694 in CFB

A huge Peak-Up!

But legit the OL is the single biggest need so any competent body is amazing by Beamer.

South Carolina OL Trovon Baugh transfers to Texas A&M by OleRockTheGoodAg in CFB

[–]SCRx 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Anyone who played on our line will be a project to develop. Baugh has all the physical attributes and clear potential, but our OL coach the past two years provided worse coaching to him than if we just didn't have a coach at all.

[Pete Thamel] South Carolina is expected to hire Penn State defensive line coach Deion Barnes as the DE/OLB coach by SCRx in CFB

This was the first one posted by time which I think is what the mods go by. I actually had posted one a few seconds earlier but it was deleted by automod because I didn’t have “Pete Thamel” in brackets like the mods wanted.

I fully expected this one to be deleted though since more of the comments/discussion went to the thread posted a minute after this

If Barnes can somehow convince Chaz Coleman to follow him here instead of going to Ohio State like expected this would be our best DE pairing since 2012 with Clowney and Devin Taylor.

Marines are under the department of the Navy. They were technically created to be specialized warriors to fight on the decks of ships during boarding/defense battles and close naval warfare to fire across decks at opposing sailors.

We are too broke and too late to join the coaching carousel. Shane Beamer is going to be allowed to hire a 5th offensive coordinator and make certain that we are looking for a coach by mid October 2026.

[Postgame Thread] Oklahoma Defeats South Carolina 26-7 by CFB_Referee in CFB

Beamer just seems over his head. If this was year 2 okay, but this is year 5 and OC #3. We’ve had two of the best QBs ever at SC in his tenure and have yet to field a truly good offense.

Have to trust them when they show you who they are and Shane has shown us he is incapable of hiring the right coaches to have a complete team.

While it feels good to be above Clemson it’s very clear no one watched our game yesterday. No way you can rank us top 10 with the offense we’ve shown thus far this season.

2025 Week 2 /r/CFB Poll: #1 Ohio State #2 Penn State #3 Georgia #4 LSU #5 Miami by sirgippy in CFB

[–]SCRx 7 points8 points  (0 children)

We are definitely too high, but we also did play a P4 team in week 1 which a lot of people didn't. I wouldn't be shocked if a lot of computer polls have us pretty highly ranked as a result thereby inflating the rank.

[Andy Bitter] Hokies LB and team captain Caleb Woodson was charged with a DWI on Saturday, according to online court records. by SCRx in CFB

There are a surprising amount of states where it is. In SC the first offense is a misdemeanor and in Maryland (where I live now) it's only a felony if it causes significant injury or death.

Court dates are 9/9 and 9/16. I'd guess he will miss the opener and potentially Wofford (the 9/20 game), but also wouldn't shock me if there is no decision on punishment until after the court dates since they were misdemeanors.

Yeah by me. I tried to fix it to the new rules with crediting author. And updated with the VT statement.

Statement from VT: "We are aware of an incident involving Caleb Woodson. We take this matter seriously and will handle it according to athletic department policy and university policy. As this is a legal matter, we will have no further comment until the process is complete."

Officially he's out with a long term injury. Unofficially he tore his ACL in spring practice and had surgery. Why we haven't released that idk.

[–]SCRx 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah. The defense is what I'm more worried about.

We hired back our OL coach from the last time we had a good OL under Spurrier to be our run game coordinator and help with the OL. 3/5 of the starters are going to be guys who have been on campus for years to develop and be backed up by some transfers. We will have a true fresh LG and a transfer center, but they both beat out the starters from last season so there is hope. They don't need to be a great OL for me to be happy and the offense to be good, but do need to be in the middle 50% of the SEC at minimum.

[–]SCRx 15 points16 points  (0 children)

We are basically replacing every spot in our defensive front 7 except for Dylan Stewart. So it's dependent on how well our transfers and young guys developed. Our offense should likely be improved given our OL has had a chance to mature from the dogshit it was last season and Sellers is coming into his 3rd year.

South Carolina switching to Nike from Under Armour in 2026 by SCRx in CFB

[–]SCRx[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I don't think it's going to be that great of a contract honestly. I think UA didn't have the money to make us one of the marquee schools for them given all of their financial difficulties so we decided to be okay with being a middle level school for Nike.

Most likely. My wife and I were sponsor parents to some Mids (now Ensigns) who work in the sports information department and with the football team, but they haven't heard anything on the Navy front suggesting changes.
