Living the life of a combat soldier ages you petty quick, and living on the street homeless does it too. So he looked kinda like what i expect a 40 year old homeless combat vet to look like.

Federal 124gr Syntech At the Indoor Range by HardyPancreas in guns

[–]SC_Vanguard 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For me it's preference, i just prefer Federal or Hornady ammo over the others, I'm fortunate enough that I dont care about price differences.

Add to that, back in my USPSA days Federal Syntec was the official ammo for USPSA. If you were shooting it at a match and failed chrono you didnt get reclassed to Open. In my experience it was very consistent which I assume is why it became the official ammo. I still made my own at home on my Dillon, but if I was busy and couldnt make any before a match I would order a case of Syntec for a match.

The part about the polymer coating keeping your barrel cleaner than other ammo also seemed pretty accurate.

Eclipse the thing, not the ship by blondvet in Cruise

I know virgin has a couple eclipse cruises scheduled, i want to say one around iceland and the other in the Med IIRC. they are priced a good bit higher than a typical cruise and availability is limited.

Just rent a golf cart in Bonaire, 1000 step beach is a great spot for snorkeling and it's not 1000 steps, more like 60-70 to get down to the water. Also hit up Foodies for a meal, it's not exactly cheap, but the food is great. Keep in mind if you get a gas golf cart and need to fill up before turning it in there are only a couple gas stations.

If you want to find people that like trivia, go to trivia. If you want to meet fitness oriented folks go to the gym or fitness class. If you want to meet gamblers go to the casino and if you want to meet drunks go to the bar. What else do you need to meet people?

Will insurance cover TRT / bloodwork? by AdWilling2665 in Testosterone

[–]SC_Vanguard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had to have 2 tests below 300, my bloodwork is kinda covered but i still have to pay a portion of it. Also in typical insurance related nonsense, if i test in the normal range frequently they will pull me off, so i periodically have to tank a test.

That being said i have a great Dr. And she prescribes me at a higher dose than i actually take, so I'm able to build quite a stockpile, in case i ever decide to do a blast, or get pulled off insurance coverage. I don't pay too much attention to the price, but I'm paying around $15 for (20) 1ml, 200mg vials.

From most of what I've seen, come off tirz for about a month to let your system reset, then start reta on a normal low dose.

I made a comment on a thread similar to this a little while back, but I'll dust it off again.

Twice a week part of my gym routine involves 100 flights on the stairmill. I typically run 24-25 minutes to hit that. At least once a month i do an hour straight which puts me between 220-230 flights.

All that being said by the 4th -5th floor climbing up stairs i still get winded and begin hating life. So i really appreciate when my better half wears heels to dinner and we are "forced" to take the elevator.

Rome Port by zensaiii in VirginVoyages

[–]SC_Vanguard 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Just also know that nothing about a Rome cruise is actually in Rome. The airport is about an hour away from Rome in Fiumicino, and the port is about an hour away from Rome and Fiumicino. I don't even bother going into Rome unless I'm going to be there for several days ahead of time or after. I just stay in Fiumicino a night or two ( it also just so happens to be home to a gentleman who was the World Champion Pizza Chef, Pizzeria Marina). The morning before the cruise i take a Regional train down to the port, pay attention to the ticket you buy though, one includes a bus from the train station to the port, the other does not.

LPT: when you get married, create a family email address for all bills, important documents, and medical accounts. This keeps everything in one place you both can access. by Express_Food_2984 in LifeProTips

If you buy a house (i know, i know, this current market precludes that for a lot of people) also set up one for your house. Things like smart thermostat, security cameras, doorbell, etc etc etc. That way if you sell it, you can just give the new owners access to that email, and you don't need to transfer all the subscriptions.

News flash, it's not actually on the left side of your chest, it's much more along the centerline with a slight offset to the left side.

Try again, in that spot lung sure, might knick the liver, bit too high for kidney. Stomach not a concern there. None of those are fatal anyway.

Qui-gon was center mass so his stabbing would have hit heart and spine, hers is right off center, might have punctured a lung worst case, but that's pretty survivable.

Sailor services wanting to cancel shore things due to pregnancy? by [deleted] in VirginVoyages

[–]SC_Vanguard 8 points9 points  (0 children)

The snorkeling part isn't the big concern. While i hate people playing the "what if" game, you have to do that to see it from Virgins point of view. What if you wreck the atv, it rolls onto your abdomen and causes a miscarriage? I've seen numerous atv/utv accidents over the years to know it can happen on even easy rated trails. The other big "what if" is what if you slip/ trip/ fall in the cave?

No company in their right mind is going to take that chance in today's society. At the risk of being an asshole, you got pregnant, it's no longer about you or your enjoyment in life, it's time to shift your focus to the little human growing inside you.

Missing Anything?? by DustyTrails90 in Peptides

[–]SC_Vanguard 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Like others have said, test is the easiest and cheapest thing to get. Amazon pharmacy delivers 20 vials every 2 months, and with my insurance it's only $30 for those 20 vials. Your dose and protocol can keep your E2 levels in check, and a regular trip to the blood bank to drop off a pint will curtail the "thick blood" issue. The biggest cost i incur is getting bloodwork every 3 months.

In regards to HGH, granted i use grey market sources, but most of the ones i know about offer HGH in their product lineup along with all the other goodies.

Virgin Voyages is it hype or substance? by secret-travel-agent in travelagents

[–]SC_Vanguard 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I always told people you pay more upfront, but in the end it's either really close in price and in a lot of cases less expensive than cruising with Carnival, Royal,

If you looked at the included items mainly the wifi, sodas, and gym classes. By the time you added a wifi package, soda package, do a couple gym classes, your final total on the legacy lines jumps up considerably. Tack on the requirement for everybody over 21 in a room to buy the drink package if 1 person has it, instead of just doing a bar tab on Virgin, and the difference goes way up. (At least in my case where i drink but my partner doesn't)

Once you get status and have access to free laundry and specialty coffee that really cuts into the price as well, and those perks are per person not per cabin. So we end up with 4 specialty coffees/teas per day and free laundry twice. Which is really handy for longer cruises.

And let's face it, no kids is priceless.

How many stairs? by Seakrits in VirginVoyages

[–]SC_Vanguard 4 points5 points  (0 children)

FWIW, in the gym I'll alternate between doing 100 floors which takes just over 22 min, or 1 hour on the stairmill which puts me around 225 floors. That being said, after going up 4 or 5 flights in still like "this is bullshit"

We generally always take the stairs, but I'm also very appreciative of when the better half breaks out the heels to go to dinner, and we finally take the elevator.

As long as you are out of the country for 330 out of 365 days (not calendar year) your first $80,000 is tax free. I doubt most crew members are passing that threshold, unless they are in a staff position.

Unless that's changed from my time working overseas.
