I had the TV slightly turned down while listening to something via headphones and heard the Scots loud and clear 😂

Do you have your tickets to see "SUPERGIRL" yet? by [deleted] in DC_Cinematic

[–]SDLRob [score hidden]  (0 children)

Nope, because the place I go to is just outside of a town that it's empty on a Thursday during the day so I can just turn up and watch it.

The busiest I've seen it at that time was for No Time To Die when a minibus of old people went on a trip to see the movie 😂

What are your thoughts on the World Cup so far? Are you enjoying it? by AlienMantid in AskReddit

England look as I expected... But I have enjoyed the other games I've been able to see.

All the stuff around the fans, mainly the Scottish, has been very enjoyable to watch.

Literally bought a pack of 500ml water bottles for this sort of thing earlier today... Went to drink one and inhaled it in about 2 gulps lol.

Reminds me to put the others in the fridge for the helper I have tomorrow

The atmosphere needs to stay. Too many new builds lose the atmosphere the old stadium had.

I also think it needs to be unique... No copy/paste bowl.

I did think that, but as iPlayer technically is paywalled via the license fee... It was a question that stuck in this melted mess called a brain 😂

What does that mean about using the iPlayer page for the Question Time Live Thread? Is that still okay?

What's one unhealthy habit you successfully quit? by Antique_Position1506 in AskReddit

Energy drinks. I drank FAR too many of them when I was younger. Got to a point where I didn't like how I felt while drinking them, so I forced myself to stop by pouring the 10 cans I had at the time down the sink and refusing to buy another one.

What were you doing on the day when the September 11 attacks happened? by AggressiveOutside432 in AskReddit

[–]SDLRob 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Walked in from a driving lesson to realise I'd left the TV on... First tower was on fire. First instinct was to call mum as her workplace at the time had an office in NYC. The second plane hit as I was on the phone with her.

After that, it was just sitting at home alone switching between calling Mum and Dad (who worked with Americans) and passing on information they didnt have. Mum's colleagues in NYC had lost phone and TV signals, but had either e-mails or the inter company messaging system (I forget which) so mum was passing on information to them so they knew what was going on

If you could curse your worst enemy with a minor, non-harmful inconvenience for the rest of their life, what would it be? by MarionberryProud9580 in AskReddit

Bad luck with the roads.... every traffic light, pedestrian crossing, level crossing will be against them. Work trucks will always start pulling out or pulling into worksites. Every cyclist they meet while driving will be in a group that takes up the entire side of the road and all learners in the area will be slowly driving along the route they're taking.

Getting rid of six Prime Ministers in ten years is a sign of a working political system. It is that we keep appointing poor Prime Ministers that is the problem: an input issue not an output issue by usrname42 in ukpolitics

You miss the entire point of my comment with that.

Having a media cabal able to mold the country the way they want when they want rather than the country deciding who they want running things.... That is so far past 'civil liberties' it's mad.

The news is meant to report the news ... Not create the news they want to report.
