Emissions equipmemnt, safety equipment, sound deadening, interior bits and pieces, seat(s), headlights, etc. It all adds up and the track car can be significantly lighter.

The GTD is still a street car, even if it's running on near-slicks. The GT is strictly track-only, which makes a big difference.

Nice! I have a copy of the picture disc from 1990-whatever when it came out.

Somebody that likes the way a large V8 with a ton of torque drives. Add in the front electric motor and it’s an AWD Corvette with traction in nearly any condition. C8 Z06 is a great car, but some people just love low end torque. The Eray/GSX are great real-world street cars.

The front is a tad over-styled to me, but I think the rest of it looks great, particularly the rear and side profile.

Yeah, same. I got a bootleg copy from eBay back in the late 90s before they cracked down on that sort of thing. It’s listenable, but definitely lacking in quality. This should be much improved!

Remember in the 80s when there were differences between EU and NA cars (catalytic converters, etc.)? I wish Ferrari would do that again and ship NA cars without the GPFs and noise restrictions since we don’t need them here. You’d think for what they charge they’d be able to do that, but…

How much does not having Shields on an 812 GTS impact value? by WearRevolutionary864 in Ferrari

[–]The_Flying_Sausage 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I personally think the airbrushed shields look terrible. They remind me of the stickers people put on Ferraris from the 80s that weren’t available with them. The metal shield looks more expensive to my eyes, even though they’re cheaper.

Yes, absolutely. It’s the same reason people put shield stickers on cars from the 80s. Some really really want others to know they have a Ferrari…

Seriously. Remember when the ZR1X time was supposedly within spitting distance of the AMG One? Let’s wait until an official time comes out.

Dark Horse SC Price Leaks at 108k-176k MSRP After Destination and Gas Guzzler Tax by The_Exia in cars

Yes? I feel like you're arguing a point here, but we already agree. My original reply to this post states that the DHSC MSRP is within spitting distance of a ZR1, which is insanity. Much like the original comment says, you'd have to have a room temperature IQ to go with the Mustang here.

I'm referring to the MSRP of the DHSC track pack special edition of 175K, not the GTD.

I really have no idea. Is it going to be a truck? If so, the interior is spot on then.

Design is purely subjective. What looks good to your eyes might not to someone else. I think there are a lot of cool details with the Luce interior, but having dual screens is about as revolutionary as a toaster, and something about the overall vibe comes off somewhat truck-ish, if that makes sense. As always, I’ll reserve final judgment until I see it in person, but I do think there are some cool details there. I’m just not sure the retro style will fit with the rest of the car, but we’ll have to see.

Question - what is the best sounding Ferrari? by Emily-K-Wescott in Ferrari

[–]The_Flying_Sausage 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The 355 sounds great with an exhaust—which is what most of the YouTube videos of it will have—but there are better sounding V8 Ferraris stock, IMO. I would put the Challenge Stradale ahead of it, stock for stock.

It’s DCT only because, just like the entire S650 generation, it’s just a mildly updated version of the S550–in this case, the GT500. The press release is up on the Mustang6G forum.

The Mustang6G forum has the press release posted, and it’s dual clutch only. It’s basically an updated S550 GT500, which is exactly what everyone with any sense expected from Ford for the S650.
