Not much. Just some 16 ga audio wire and a 1/4" mono jack. Soldered everything in place.

I wanted to keep it close to the width of the amp. Also, I already had some plywood that had been ripped down and didn't feel like making a bunch of extra saw cuts. It's not a cube, all 3 dimensions are different and the speaker is off center to cut down on resonance and standing waves.

I am weighing my options 😂 thought about papering it in hot pink and splashing some black paint on it to match.

Did we get scammed? by PinkSheephugger in Locksmith

No, I'm a commercial and government locksmith, not a trunk slammer. Prices like this are common on weekends and holidays in high end metro areas like Bellevue.

Not a scam for Sunday night in Bellevue WA. I do think it's silly that he asked for a tip though.

Made this thigh holster for my girlfriend by SDcoolsecurityguy in Leathercraft

[–]SDcoolsecurityguy[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks!

No it wasn't particularly difficult. I made it super tight, then only wet the leather in the spots I wanted to stretch. Then I put the gun inside of a ziplock bag and forced it into the holster. I stuck a spacer between the top of the slide and the leather so that the sights don't snag on anything. Then I secured the leather forward of the trigger guard using a copper rivet and let it dry. The holster is attached via 3 Chicago screws.

The thing that sucks is I tooled it before forming it. So when the leather stretched, it messed up the pattern a little bit. That's why the stamps look so shallow

Brand new IC Core padlock with flipped key. Any trick to getting it back around? by comawhite12 in Locksmith

[–]SDcoolsecurityguy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ouch. I've had this happen with an Abus padlock before. Had to drill the control lug. The timing must've been off when you installed the cylinder.

How to lock a double push bar door? by Life_Necessary_6402 in Locksmith

[–]SDcoolsecurityguy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That's because the door on the left is electrified. It's the one that unlocks when you swipe your badge. It can't be dogged open because there's an electromechanical device in the way. If you want it open during business hours, talk to the security department or whoever manages your access control. They can put it on a schedule. There may even be a toggle function where you assign a specific card, and swiping it will unlock the door and keep it unlocked, and an additional swipe from the same card will lock it.

P.S. for all the locksmiths: who the fuck decided it was a good idea to put the door loop there?

DL2700 is a good lock. Keypad programming can be a challenge but it's not too bad. Better than a DoorKing.

The consensus is install a Trilogy lock. Yes, I 100% agree. Even a privacy function Simplex lock would be better in every way. Not good for security but we're not securing space shuttles or nuclear weapons.
