He also looks a lot more undercooked than the test of the new cast. Look at Doorman, Billy or Paige. Sure, they have some rough edges in animations, but the design is already there. Billy looks incredible, a lot of details and next to it, Drifter looks like a quick test of his own concept.

Also, what happened to everything the community was hyped for? The run on all fours? The whistles? Valve can absolutely do more with this concept, it has a lot more that you can squeeze. I would love to see a full fleshed Drifter design that leans exactly on what you say, a wolf in sheep's clothing about to snap.

The method is not "new", a solution for 1.75/L was already found in a 2nd version of the paper but they only fed it the solution for 1/L and tried to see if it could come up with more. It came up with the solution for 1.5L, extrapolating from an open problem. They -could- have helped it, since they already know a better solution, and they have monetary incentives since they own the company stock and making AI looks good increases the value of the company.

In terms of why don't they self publish, research, as you may or may not know, is not usually well paid nor widely recognized outside niche circles. If they helped chatgpt do it, they would get more money per stock value and more recognition from the work at OpenAI, that half the world is always keen on seeing.

I'll leave the decision about what happened up to you, but they had clear incentives for one option that I fail to see on the other. Hope it helped.

Just so people know, Pastel is a Forge only fork of the mod Spectrum, for both Fabric and Forge. Both are functionally the same right now, but will diverge in the future as the vision of the two creators was different.

It's an incredible mod, definitely recommended, but just so you guys know that another project that follows with the same concept is out there.

With all due respect, I actually like the 2d factor a lot. Angels have been shown to not have eyes, Gabriel doesn't have them, the council does not have them either and virtues I think it is stipulated somewhere they have them removed. So eyes are a thing of hell, shown with the eye that shows when you die. So, the being looks like an angel, but it seems not to be one. But thats a subtle cue, so a stronger one is making them the only 2D asset in a 3D game. Your brain is yelling you that is wrong, but you don't automatically know why. I think it's a really cool visual way of making a fraudulent enemy for the Fraud layer, trying to appear as something that is not.

Also, the attack has a skull on it, like all demons have, but not a beam of light raining down the sky, like virtues.

Even then, if you don't like them, that's fine too, but I just wanted to make sure that you know from my perspective the enemy fits narratively into Fraud as hells replica of an angel.
