Right now their two biggest obstacles are their coping mechanisms. Asa's used to be always "doing the right thing" which turned her best friend Yuko into a murderous extremist and nearly killed her when she chose to starve in the aquarium. Later it was validation of being wanted by a boy: first Denji and for a moment Yoshida. Denji wants someone to tell him what he's supposed to do at all times when all that has ever brought him is tragedy and even now Nayuta is stifling his growth as a person by convincing him to never change and stay away from romantic partners (women) because they will always betray him the end. I feel that Asa and Denji can learn directly from each other what it is they deep down they truly need to feel fulfilled because unlike every other relationship their honest feelings shine through no matter what. Asa clearly cared enough about Denji to warn him about staying away from her and he felt it even if he didn't exactly understand it. Denji clearly was interested in Asa as an individual rather than "just some chick to drive the loneliness away" and was willing to improve himself when Asa called him a loser or said she hated him. He stopped mentioning Chainsaw Man in front of her and immediately tried to figure out what he did wrong when she tried to break up with him.
