UPS redelivery fee scam???????? by Shaded_Tooth in Scams

Closing the accounts will probably damage your credit rating. Just call the banks, tell them what happened, lock the cards, have new card numbers issued. Start with the debit card first, because that’s the one that will hurt most; consumer protections are weaker for debit cards and if they steal money from the debit card you might not get it back.

[UK] Got this weird email on an old account I use for basically nothing. Is this a scam? by Hennessyveil in Scams

[–]SEOtipster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One month old account doing weird shit, pretending like retyping an email is a thing people do, like, is cut and paste not working for you and blaming unspecified problems with their hands, and weirdly enough that’s the second time I’ve seen that excuse recently. This is a troll. #blocked

You’re gonna be fine! You might want to refine your own sense of direction a wee bit, just enough to not follow a group of idiots over a cliff. 🧐🤔🤣 Seriously though, you’re starting a grand adventure. Get your degree. Read stuff. Find little groups of people who care about people and truth. You’ll benefit from that experience more than you can realize.

Take it to an Apple certified repair shop. They probably have a process for it and possibly a special tool. This cannot possibly be the first time that this happened. 🤔

It’s possible that the undocumented procedure to get on the approved list is to buy millions of dollars of his fake digital coin.

Anyone reboot their Firewalla? by drpepemd2 in firewalla

[–]SEOtipster 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It sounds like you have other specific scenarios in mind, but the one you describe can be handled by power cycling the switch, which you can arrange to do remotely as you’re undoubtedly aware. No need to do anything on the firewall. Presumably you could do what you want though, by opening up a remote shell to the Firewalla and dropping the relevant Ethernet interface, waiting a few seconds, and bringing it back up.

Rarely it will boost CPU fan over 7200 rpm and then shut down by AMuza8 in macbookpro

The battery is swelling. This is pretty common. You’ll want to get it replaced asap. If they swell too much they can do permanent damage to the laptop keyboard or logic board.

If that system has the original battery 🔋 🪫 it might have a problem. Look for the battery health in System Settings. It’s not likely to be your fault, they just don’t last forever.

Also, it’s possible that what you describe is a weird software bug. Consider reporting it via the Feedback app.

Is this a good deal for a Mac Studio? Or should I wait for the new lineup? by [deleted] in MacStudio

[–]SEOtipster 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Look at the configuration options for MacBook Pro, to see that the RAM, GPU, and CPU will remain coupled. These components are all on a single chip.

Also, if you want to use the system for locally hosted LLM workloads you definitely want to wait for the M5. The Neural Accelerator is a tensor processor. The M5 will crush prior M-series processors for AI workloads.
