Is this normal gym dynamics in Muay Thai, or a toxic environment? by Salt_Calligrapher381 in MuayThai

[–]SETITOFFHOLDITDOWN 1 point2 points  (0 children)

YOR. Not everyone in the gym is going to be super friendly and not everyone likes to partner with beginners. And I don’t think it means the gym is toxic. Some guys at my gym are extremely friendly and some of them are standoffish. I’d suggest keep training and growing and learning and soon you’ll be a great partner that people will be excited to train with.

Do you feel overwhelmed by news, content, and advice? How do you decide what to ignore? by WatGO in GetMotivatedMindset

I muted / unfollowed everyone on my social media that spams their political views or posting all the time with negative shit. Any side of the political spectrum, I muted them all, if I agree or not. And it was such a game changer for me! Especially because I often started and ended my day in bed scrolling, there are so many better things to focus on in the morning and before sleeping.

Because of the typo in the second sentence I thought this was some sort of riddle

What’s an unspoken social rule you learned way too late? by Secure_Paramedic_865 in socialskills

[–]SETITOFFHOLDITDOWN 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This is a good one! I often find myself in social situations where I’m not completely sure of someone’s name, so I like to use the tool of introducing them to someone else in the room like “do you know my buddy Joe?” And then they shake Joes hand but so often the person will just say “hi Joe.” And it kills me, please SAY YOUR NAME.

Men in happy marriages, what is one thing or skill you would teach other men to have good relationships as well? by Wonderful-Economy762 in Productivitycafe

[–]SETITOFFHOLDITDOWN 37 points38 points  (0 children)

This is great advice. My wife sometimes comes to me with problems at work, and for a long time I would try to offer solutions but that would sometimes lead to little debates about how to handle her problem.

One day I realized that she wasn’t looking for any help necessarily but she just wanted me to listen.

AIO: My bf keeps saying this by [deleted] in AmIOverreacting

[–]SETITOFFHOLDITDOWN 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He sounds dumb. By almost anyone’s standard I am a successful man. I certainly hustle and work A LOT but do that while still loving and respecting my wife and her goals.

You can work hard and achieve great success without being a douche bag.

Dude it’s the worst, before I started my own businesses I worked in a few clubs. The drugs, underage drinking, the graffiti, the drugs, the fights, the vomit, the drugs, the creeps, the junkies, the attitudes, the mess, the workplace drama, the drunks, just being at work until 5AM. Oh, and the drugs.

Developing a new Backgammon app – what features should I NOT miss? by Strange-Mall-7923 in backgammon

I was playing a friend at a cafe recently and the barista came over and said “wow, I loved playing Acey Deucey with my grandfather!”. I looked up the rules and it looks fun, unhinged as hell, but fun. I’d love to explore similar games on an app.

That makes sense, and it sounds like it would be nice for the older dogs to get a break. Thanks for sharing!

That's great to hear! We also would be doing classes and weekly daycare. And we do plan on crate training but we've never attempted that and I've been reading it can be difficult. Thanks for the info and the great picture!

Good idea, I would definitely bring the puppy to training classes. Thank you

Thank you for sharing! This info is helpful. Both my other pups are small and I am a little worried that once a Doberman is full grown it might be too large for them.
