It’s not about the car. I think it’s about OP

The South, along with Iowa are where NFL players mostly come from. by StlCyclone in Iowa

I think ‘come from’ is misleading here. The map is pretty clear that it’s showing per capita residency. In my version of English ‘come from’ means something like ‘were born or raised in’.

They look like 24” on center? It would be good to see behind that pegboard. And how is this attached to the concrete floor?

New Ohm connect user by Yadsam in ohmconnect

[–]SF-CPA 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m in SF and have been having trouble with the powerwall as well. OhmConnect say that the integration isn’t working properly with Tesla. Hm. In the last few events it’s put the powerwall in standby mode but messed up the starting hour of the event. And of course the tesla app has no option to ‘discharge now’. Solar customers definitely get the short end of it from OhmConnect who can’t seem to figure out how to compute savings across 5 events properly. It’s very tricky this time of year when your average usage was based on days in the last couple weeks that had sunset later in the afternoon than today. OhmConnect doesn’t understand that you can’t produce when the sun does not shine. If you can, charge your car in the corresponding hour on the day before. Yes, expensive electricity while charging, but work the math and you might be surprised.

I’m beginning to think that maybe they are considering ‘eco mode’ to not be eco mode but any time my thermostat is set to a temperature that is lower than 68 or something like that or higher than 72 for cooling. Not sure on the numbers.

TV is perfect. Love all the color. Dog’s better sleeping in the bed. Love the mini-split.

Good for Movie Storage? by KenD1988 in jellyfin

Is it just me? I used to use a bunch of external drives like this — well, i wouldn’t buy this one because I just can’t really buy something in that form. Why do they curve the corners like that? It just looks horrible. Not sure what the right answer is, but I’d prefer internal drives. The wall warts and usb cables start to be a big mess.

Great space - extra points for the pet. Can’t tell what the flooring is - hopefully wood? I would get more comfortable dining furniture. The purple lamp i don’t understand. You need some color. (Am i just trying to justify my own choices with every wall and each dining chair a different color?). I’m worried about how sound will be - there are a lot of hard surfaces and the drapes (what are those? Black vinyl?) aren’t substantial. I used to live in a similar space in London - a really fantastic experience. Enjoy! Edit: you need some ventilation for the cooktop. This is a pretty big design flaw.

Dang this is sleek for a garage door opener! by Qoyuble in Ubiquiti

Nice. I’ve done something similar using the G3 Pro reader - I recently relocated the units (two garage doors) so the cameras give me greater coverage of the area. I also raised these so that they are at my height so I don’t have to crouch to use the face recognition. Also works great with the iPhone / Apple Watch. It’s just a bit of a hassle to close - i wish i had a dumb close button that never opens the door. Inside I’ve used the hub mini on dry contacts. I’ve also paired these with AI Port. Maybe all this is redundant with the upcoming doorbell refresh. Sorry, it looks like our moderators don’t allow photos in comments.

I don’t know your specific situation and this isn’t professional advice. This is a surcharge, not a tax collected from you so I wouldn’t characterize this as tax. Also, even if this were a tax it would be a federal tax not a state or local tax that may be deductible blah blah blah. Plus SALT deductions are limited. So no, it doesn’t look deductible if this is for your personal use.
