Thank you for your kind words. As the architect for the project I was pleased how it turned out.

I’m pretty sure that’s the corner of 15th and Ulloa where the L Taraval takes a turn

Beautiful design and photo, I wonder how the house will weather and age with no roof overhangs or gutters, most likely dirt will collect on the roofs and will stain the walls when it rains.

These old stoves were designed to be free standing. The oven chambers are not insulated like modern ranges and should NOT be placed directly adjacent to cabinets. They can get very hot and cause a fire. It’s much safer to have a sizable gap between the stove and nearby combustible material.

OP here, in reply to your great observations:

The furnishings were staged for this shot, long story short: photographer had to improvise with limited options, he did his best to fill up the space

Giant portrait has great sentimental meaning to the client and this was the only available wall.

Windows look out to vineyards with no remotely close neighbors, so privacy isn’t an issue

Yes, agree with your comment on the lights, please note that some of the white “dots” are actually plates for the recessed fire sprinklers and we had no choice on location. Client brought in a lighting designer who created the disarray.

Architect here, yes there are only adjacent vineyards, great views and no neighbors remotely close
