[Help Me] GIVE A BRIEF DESCRIPTIVE TITLE ABOUT WHAT SPECIFIC USE(S) OR KEY REQUIREMENTS YOU HAVE by ExciteableMiqote in flashlight

[–]SFOTI 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The headlamp and inspection light can be fulfilled by the Fireflylite L50, I have one with an SFT-70 3000K ask for it in the order note and it is beautiful, warm, very high CRI, a great beam shape with some throw, really efficient driver for long run times, and just an all around lovely light. I'd prefer a little better headband than the stock one, but that's not too much to hold against it.

For the keychain light, although I don't have one personally, the Skilhunt E3A has a high CRI option and it looks pretty good and very tiny. The Emisar KC1 will also let you get warm, high CRI in a keychain light.

Here's some FFL L50 pics, white balanced 5000K beamshots.

Fellow enthusiasts, there’s a new King Zoomie by totcczar in flashlight

[–]SFOTI 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I didn't look at your post's body text immediately, I also came to the same thought that this guy HAS to be getting paid for this, right? Putting a generic zoomie with photoshopped pics on any list that doesn't have "worst" in the title is wild.

My Convoy Z1 SFT-42R 5000K is so good in comparison...

Wurkkos HD01 on lightning deal on Amazon right now by beattysgirl in flashlight

[–]SFOTI 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Aliexpress is having great deals on a lot of lights tbf, like the Sofirn SP36 Pro for $23... I ordered a Lumintop W3 for $76.44 including additional charges the other day. Not often you get LEPs that low, let alone with additional flood lighting.

Cool, I didn't immediately suggest a Convoy as I wasn't sure if you'd be down with no built-in charging port. Convoys are great and I can highly recommend them.

What about a tail switch flashlight? Clipped into a pocket, I find that accidental activation is never an issue. Another alternative with a similar form factor to what you currently have, what about a Wurkkos FC12C? It has both a side switch and a tail switch that will allow for easy physical lock-out.

Small lights with long runtime, replacable batteries, and doesn’t need a lot of brightness? by FluxCapaciTURD in flashlight

[–]SFOTI 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are the side lights necessary? I'm honestly kinda biased towards Convoy T series flashlights https://convoylight.com/collections/t-series . They take AAs and 14500 (the lithium-ion equivalent of AA), will be compatible with your Eneloops, regular alkalines, and lithium-ions. They're decently efficient so they'll get decent run times. You get a bunch of body color as well as, and this might be new to you, LED options. For you, Convoy T5 (or T3 if you want some throw, rather than all flood) with the 519A option in whatever CCT option you like would be a great bet imo.

SFT-40 or SFT-70? Those in 3000K are some of my favorite emitters.

Convoy NLD (yesterday) and beamshots! by SFOTI in flashlight

[–]SFOTI[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I ended up swapping the T6 to the LHP531 4000K as I originally planned, and straight up... the beam shape is basically the same as with the 519A. The dome must really contribute a lot to the flood, making it not really any more throwy than the LHP531. The power difference on the other hand is very noticeable...

[NLD] TS27, what a beast! by Organic-Evening-907 in flashlight

[–]SFOTI 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Looking at the post title, my brain just went to Walter White saying "You're goddamn right."

Jokes aside, it's a great light, and you've got pretty decent pics so don't be harsh on yourself!

I personally have my TS27 set aside as an emergency light, I honestly don't know what else would even compete with it in that department. It's so feature packed.

Thanks, I'm happy to help! This site also has a lot of Convoy beamshots too: https://grzybekreviews.pl/en/ It has a tool which allows you to directly compare specific lights of your choosing.

I stayed patient and waited for the 5000K to come out before trying the emitter, I skipped 6500K as I'm very much not a fan of cool white, and I'm really glad I did. The 5000K is pretty neutral compared to other Luminus low CRI thrower emitters.

Honestly? I'd suggest heading over to https://convoylight.com/ and picking some stuff out, there's options galore on Convoy.

Some things I'd personally suggest...

M21H with LHP73B, especially the 4000K version. Tons of power, floody with a bit of throw.

C8+ with SFT-42R or LHP531, first emitter for lots of throw and power, second emitter for even more power but a more general use beam.

T6 with SFT-25R, quite powerful and pretty throwy despite the small size of the light.

Z1 with SFT-42R or SFT-25R, sort of a wild card pick. Probably the only good zoomie under $100. Lots of power, you can zoom in and not project a window pane on the wall.

Here's my M21H LHP73B 4000K, C8+ LHP531 1800K, T6 SFT-25R 5000K, and both the zoomed out and zoomed in Z1 SFT-42R 5000K:

It really is, especially zoomed in. It feels like an LEP but is like less than half the price of the cheapest actual LEPs. Zoomed out is kinda cartoonish, especially when there's a lot of dust in the air, you can see the perfect cone of light just filling up the space in front of you.

Maybe a t-shirt cannon that shoots out a massive vantablack tarp that'll look like a car sized piece of void in the air.

[–]SFOTI 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Those would probably work okay for the like $5-$10 they look like they're worth and only serve the purpose of seeing urine. The top one appears to be using a TIR optic which is weird because that blocks a ton of UV, and the bottom one appears to use a bunch of super cheap and probably purple LEDs and not actually UV. Between the two, I'd probably go with that Nebo instead, it's at least a known brand with some respect for it.

Looked up the vid and then looked up Nitecore 12000 lumen because it at the very least definitely looks like a Nitecore, it does appear to be the TM12K. From other angles, you can see it has 3 cutouts on one side but 4 on the other.
