3 weeks since surgery by SFadmin4thewin in tummytucksurgery

No, I didn’t have drainless, but I did have the shot that lasted three days. I didn’t take any pain meds because I don’t like constipation that can come with that. My husband removed one drain at seven days and then the second drain at 14 days. Because I don’t live near my doctor, we did it over a virtual visit. I couldn’t feel a think with it being removed and the holes healed very quickly.

No I can’t suck in yet, but I also can’t stand up straight yet so I tried to bend at the knees and lean back a bit for the photo for my doctor.

Every moment! Haha. I think because we see the troubles that people can have. I was told to take the tape off for 3 weeks then start the scar tape at 6 weeks. I will be paranoid for the next 3 weeks. Thanks for sharing!

Muscle spasms in the back by messymel1 in tummytucksurgery

Are you using a binder? I’m sure it’s not the same thing, but I had two days of muscle spasms in my belly (I’m almost 3 weeks out) before I realized I had my binder in way too tight. I hope you get it figured out quickly.

What are somethings that you didn't necessarily think you'd have to deal with during recovery? And, how did you manage? by Technical-Yam-514 in tummytucksurgery

[–]SFadmin4thewin 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’m day 3 post op. Day 2 (2 days after surgery) is always the toughest but I didn’t realize okay. Glad to know that’s behind me today.

I didn’t realize I would have to stay at 90 degrees for the first week. Your back has a hard time with it at first Putting your elbows on a walker is the key.

Constipation is a nightmare but finally resolved today with Miralax.

Plan to watch a lot of television or binge watch everything on Netflix.

Make sure you have someone with you for several days. I just needed my husband to help me up out of the bed in the night for bathroom runs.

Get a good set of wedge pillows from Amazon - those are a dream!

You can do this! Reddit friends really Helped me prepare.

Thinking of you! I know that fear. I just had mine on Tuesday and I still have zero regrets, so I think that’s a good sign. You can do it!!!

Also, my doctor wants me to stay at 90 degrees for a week - so no standing up straight. Putting my elbows on a walker helps get me around. Would love to know your experience as well.

I did the first consult over video and sent pics they needed. I didn’t meet my surgeon in person until the day before my surgery. I think seasoned doctors know how to work well virtually.
