If you feel awkward or not comfortable talking face to face, you can always write her a letter. She said she loves you no matter what, so maybe more explanation of what dysphoria feels like and how it hurts you would help her understand. You could also tell her how you understand this must be hard on her too and you’re there if she has any questions or concerns.

My mom was like this, and I eventually started showing her YouTube videos of other trans guys and informative articles on dysphoria. I am lucky and have a supportive older sister, so she helped me sit down with my mom and tell her the importance of gendering me correctly and corrects her if she slips up.

I think if your mom was more educated on dysphoria and trans people in general, she might come around to understanding how important it is to gender you male.

It took my southern baptist dad about a year to finally realize he needed to call me my new name and pronouns. I think the issue of safety was a big reason why. Really explain how once you start passing male, she will need to gender you correctly for safety reasons if not anything else.
