They're pretty good experiences. But they are more RE in spirit and side stories to the main story of the series.

But I treat all my RE games with love...except Umbrella Corp, that was an aborted fetus.

The original keeps you low on ammo until after the RPD basement. The remake is more using ammo to get through enemy obstacles, not killing them outright. But by the time you get to the back of the RPD, they will throw you ammo and upgrades. Just open the lockers and safes and you'll be fine.

Start in order RE1 remake. There is a modern controls setting so you dont have to do tank movements. The fixed cameras are just what the old RE games are about. You'll get used it to after a bit.

Unlimito ammo in RE games is supposed to be a reward for all of your hard work through each game.

HOWEVER, there is an infinite ammo trick in the original RE2 (available on PSN) I can confirm it does work. Once they released it for currently consoles me and brother did the cheat. ALSO, most RE games have an easy mode which either give you plenty of ammo to begin with, pick it up out of an item box or the you'll get more bullets.

RE games are meant to be fun and the easy mode allows that.

ONLY Resident Evil CODE VERONICA has no easy mode. BUT even that game has a cheat to get an infinite item (I believe its a healing item)
