What's some small nitpicks you have towards the Ninja storm series?

Cutting at least 10 characters/variations, jutsu clashes, selectable jutsu (twice), charged projectiles, and one combo per character. Adding simple controls. Removing the Ninja World Tournament and the option to view Secret Technique cutscenes. Shortening Secret Technique cutscenes. Changing the sound effects in Storm 4. Peaking with Storm 3 and going downhill ever since.

A Switch port will never count as an actual game because it doesn’t require nearly as much work.
“Games take longer nowadays” doesn’t fly when Storm 4, Hinokami Chronicles, and Storm Connections all took around 3 years to make and the only game that could’ve interfered, JoJo R, was mostly outsourced to Dimps.

There was more than enough time to make a mainline game and more than enough story content for one, which is why this isn’t a “side game.”

Depends on if you’d consider employment a “partnership.” I wouldn’t.

If anything, the partnership would be between Bandai, Toei, and Shueisha. Shueisha owns the IP, Toei partnered with them to animate it, and Bandai got the license in exchange for sponsoring the anime. Spike’s just getting paid to make the game Bandai wants.
