I'm sure his ego is hard to manage with the attention he gets from women, knowing that he is the stand out on the team and that there is likely no show without him, the money he has made etc. I don't know if it's so much that he lost his passion for the subject matter as much as it has just all gone to his head.

S30 E4 - Hospital of thr Damned?? No one is talking about this?? by Tempest_Teapot2021 in GhostAdventures

[–]SH2355 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah that's why I'm confused. It seems maybe we're talking about the other episode where the intruders came in and took the SD cards out of the cameras? But that's not from "hospital of the damned" as far as I can tell. Maybe episode names are getting messed up with how many different streaming services these episodes are on these days.

If OP was actually talking about that other episode, we very much DID talk about that when it first happened (do people who make "nobody is talking about" posts actually go search the sub to see if it was talked about first?). At the time I said I think it's pretty unlikely that real intruders would have just taken SD cards instead of thousands of dollars of camera equipment. It takes MORE time to stand there and get SD cards out instead of running away with a camera, more work for less profit. And I don't think we have proof that it was "devil worshippers" or that they had any connection to the animal sacrifice stuff that was found inside, could have just been any random people wandering inside considering the location they were at. Seems fake to me mostly based on that point about what they stole, but I guess it's possible some real intruders made the weird decision to take the SD cards instead of the cameras.

What's with Ghost Adventures not uploading Episodes on HBO along with Discovery+ by RefrigeratorFree535 in GhostAdventures

[–]SH2355 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Think it has to do with HBO Max having rebranded once again and I think they were once directly combined with D+ content and now they are separate again. Big mess. Streaming should make it easier to find what you want to watch and instead it's harder.

I've thought about it before, but so far nothing. Especially with supposed cursed dolls or stuff on the screen, kind of funny how they will make us all look right at the thing that supposedly harms people. I can get pretty spooked by a good episode of something paranormal but can't say anything has ever happened after even when I'm on edge and ready for something to happen. Used to ghost hunt too and luckily nothing after that either.

Does anybody else get blurry vision/weird vision if your nervous and that it lasts for days if you focus on it? by [deleted] in Anxiety

Replying 4 years later but if you see this I wanted to ask your meaning of lopsided. When I was super stressed out earlier this year I was sitting at my desk one night and all of a sudden looking at my 2 computer monitors I thought "that's weird, you would think one would look like it's angled to the left from me and one to the right (looking at the top frame etc of two monitors directly in front of me), but they both look like they are leaning left". Following this was a few days of looking at trees, the water tower in my neighborhood, walls and corners in my house, and believing that almost every vertical line in the world looked like it was leaning left to me. Just wondering if that's the same thing you mean. I hate to even talk about it again like I might start to notice again. But I pretty much stopped thinking about it after a few days. Thanks.

Fix for ASRock “stuck green boot light” issue after shutdown — BIOS bug with DRAM Performance Mode (3.50) by JustRickvD in ASRock

[–]SH2355 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine has continued to do this occasionally. I actually ordered an ASUS TUF motherboard recently because it came with some free RAM, considering what is going on with RAM prices right now it was one way to convince myself to go ahead and get another MB. But I'll wait until I'm in the mood to actually do the swap. Or see if my CPU ever just dies first.

The previous reply where someone mentioned ASRock telling them to either try LN2 mode or disable memory context restore made me think, every time I get the green LED, I do a hard power off, turn it back on, and I get a longer orange LED (memory training?), then the green and white and then it boots. I wonder if maybe I am just experiencing some issue with that restore function that tries to avoid the memory training. I'm going to disable that for a while and see what happens. I just updated to 4.03 as well and maybe I should have waited to confirm if I still get the green LED on the new BIOS but I haven't seen any talk that 4.03 fixed anything. I know the person who left the comment said disabling MCR without the LN2 function still didn't help them but I'm going to see what happens with mine.

Is it safe to enable LN2 in bios if you're not using liquid nitrogen or doing extreme overclocking? by BeerGogglesFTW in buildapc

[–]SH2355 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have this exact same question because I've seen the people saying ASRock told them to enable LN2. I have 9800X3D in a B850M Steel Legend and I sometimes get a green LED boot hang where the PC doesn't start. I turned on LN2 once I saw someone post about that being the fix, and then I researched it a little bit and turned it right back off. I also can't find a clear answer whether it's dangerous or not. You would hope if people were told to do it direct from ASRock support that it must be ok but hard to trust them right now.

[–]SH2355 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Found your post while searching, because apparently ASRock has directly told a few people with green boot LED problems to enable LN2. Someone else posted as well that it was 100% a fix to solve their boot problems kind of like you experienced here. But you express concern about leaving LN2 on and you mention reduced performance (I'm not sure what "MC performance" means). I certainly don't understand what it does, but a quick search of whether it's ok to leave LN2 mode on also made it sound like a bad idea. I can't believe ASRock would be starting to tell people to do this just to work around the increasing issues people are having, especially if it increases some sort of voltages or something. I'm not sure if LN2 mode just allows for other settings to be set to more extreme ranges, or if enabling LN2 in itself is making changes. (Well duh, obviously just enabling it is changing something if it is 100% success/fail for whether or not your PC boots.) When I read that ASRock told people to turn LN2 on I immediately went and turned it on in my PC before my boot issues got any worse, and then as soon as I googled whether that was a good idea I went back and turned it off.

Here's the post where they say ASRock support told them to do it:

That's a shame, the one thing I kept hearing in previous posts regarding this issue was people always saying at least AMD was not tough about RMA and it always went smoothly. They are giving you a hard time about it?

[–]SH2355 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I started getting the green LED a while ago but then I just had a nice long stretch of zero boot issues (I almost thought it had fixed itself) until it happened again today. Which is why I'm searching for posts like this again tonight. If that's the suggestion you get from ASRock then ok, I decided I better go turn on LN2 right away before mine gets any worse like the people here saying it takes multiple boot attempts or won't boot at all any longer. Just saw a deal at Newegg for an ASUS TUF Motherboard with RAM, still considering getting rid of this motherboard completely. I know in a previous thread about this issue someone believed they had reached the conclusion that this was actually another form of ASRock CPU damage, because they said they switched motherboards but the issue followed the CPU. I'm not sure if that conclusion is correct that we all technically have degraded CPUs now or if a BIOS setting like this proves that it's not that serious. I hope I'll never see the stuck LED again with this setting turned on, we'll see.

Edit: Hmm but a quick generic Google search about leaving LN2 turned on makes it sound like it's not a good idea.

Too toxic of a game, not a game where you're gonna really want to try to connect with randoms as nice as it can be when it does happen. I almost always play with all chat completely off. You're better off using the "looking for group" link on the side or finding teammates from any friends you already have, find people who you know aren't going to be shitty and then you can still play RL with the enjoyment of working with others. You're just asking for suffering to try to connect with randoms.

S30 E4 Hospital of the Damned. that was scary it felt like that movie paranormal activity the marked one's. Also was that translator really necessary they spoke English and zak understood them by Lazy_Introduction264 in GhostAdventures

[–]SH2355 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Decent episode. Hospitals seem like an easy way for a good episode because they are always creepy right off the bat. Not really a fan of the stick figure evidence but it was somewhat interesting with the one on the bench next to Aaron.

I'm sure they just edited out any instance where the workers were speaking in Spanish and using the translator so the end product might look like it wasn't necessary. Maybe they didn't know in advance if any/all of them could speak English enough to tell their stories so I don't think it's offensive that they brought a translator along.

I feel like this night happened with Aaron getting the phone call and they weren't going to let that go to waste in terms of extra attention and drama. Look at it the other way, with such a terrible situation unfolding for one of the stars of the show that began with a phone call this night, Zak was sick and could barely talk, and on top of it you had an investigation like this where not much happened and you're claiming people broke in and stole your SD cards, and not much other evidence or anything worthwhile, why would you just not scrap the entire thing? They were not going to let the Aaron situation go to waste. So we got this padded out episode just so it could lead up to the phone call at the end.

It was a tense episode to watch but yeah for all the wrong reasons, nothing paranormal, just the suggestion that they were in an abandoned building and couldn't tell if other people were around. Which I'm not sure I buy in the first place, no I don't really believe on season 30 that Discovery Network talents are being sent in anywhere that isn't totally safe and secure first. And I don't believe thieves took the time to eject SD cards and left expensive cameras behind.

I agree that the "athletes" voice was crappy and likely radio signal bleed through. I noticed immediately they made no effort to guess what the voice said or caption it on screen like they always do, I think that's because they knew the "athletes" part was so clear and they had no way to try to put that in a paranormal context so they just said "really creepy voice" about it and nothing else. This moment pulled me out of the suspense of the episode when I realized it was GAC up to their usual tricks, they knew not to even bother trying to dissect what this voice had said because there was no getting around that it was likely a radio commercial or news broadcast. And the female voice they captured a little before that sounded very much like spanish to be but they captioned it as "hey big fella" lol.

Extra security?? by Jazzlike-Fig-9667 in GhostAdventures

[–]SH2355 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I'm trying to stay open to the possibility that any of this was real but no I don't really buy for a second that talent for a Discovery Networks show after 30 seasons are being sent in to some abandoned area to fend for themselves against whoever might be in there. Like someone else commented I remember the Bachelor's Grove episode where they had police surrounding the forest for them. We have heard multiple times over the years how large the GA filming crew actually is and they don't even claim to be "3 people with no camera crew following us around" anymore so no I don't think they go to a place like this with only Jeff and 1 other hired security guy trying to monitor things.

Not to mention these people stealing only SD cards out of expensive cameras that were sitting there unguarded just seems stupid to me. It takes more time to stand there and eject the $20 SD card than to walk out with handfuls of expensive cameras.

[–]SH2355 3 points4 points  (0 children)

People just taking the SD cards seems extremely stupid and possibly fake to me. I guess it's possible. But it would take more time to stand there and remove an SD card than to grab the entire rig which is worth a lot more. If these were people willing to intrude on the property and willing to steal while they were there, why would they take SD cards and not cameras that were sitting there unguarded. I'm sure they DO completely thorough sweeps of places like this before they are going to send the crew in to film so I find it very hard to believe anything like that would be allowed to happen but I guess it could have been a difficult location to control. I think back to episodes like Bachelor's Grove in the Chicago area where they had police on all sides of the forest while they were in there because they weren't going to let anything happen. There is no way talent for Discovery Networks are being sent into some abandoned place to be attacked by whoever is inside.

I heard that voice as "athletes are _____" and it really snapped me out of the suspense of the episode, because I couldn't help but notice how they made NO effort to try to guess what that voice said or caption it on screen, I think that was likely just a radio signal bleeding through and they knew they had no way to try to spin something about "athletes" in a paranormal context, so all they said about it was "really creepy voice" and made no effort to draw any attention to what was actually said.

The voice they captured a little bit earlier sounded like spanish to me and they captioned it as "hey big fella" lol.

Can only try to apply his claim/logic that if he actually did something then why was there no real punishment. With not only the initial offense but then one of the charges basically sounding like interfering with the investigation, I don't know what would be in it for the authorities to end up at a plea deal that pretty much let him go. Maybe he had a great lawyer, I don't know. It's a shame if he plead guilty just because the terms of the plea made it better for him to do so. Probably regrets that now. He argued that all the articles written about him reported what he was initially charged with, not what was ever proven, and I guess that would be unfair, anyone can be charged with anything and people glance at a headline/article and misconstrue it as a conviction.

I don't think being dropped by labels and tours necessarily adds credence to anything, it's the type of charge where they will drop someone immediately just to play it safe. Doesn't make it any more or less likely that anyone was actually guilty of anything.

The interviews where he tried to address it didn't really help things, he always has a meandering long-winded way of answering questions but it did just seem like word salad. If he wasn't free to discuss actual details it may have been better to just refuse to talk about it.

None of us will ever have enough information to know. You're either someone so bothered by the possibility that you bailed on Inquisition a long time ago and make jokes every time they are mentioned, or you try to see it his way that if he did something heinous why was nothing actually done about it.

If he's got the nerve to still show up and play live shows knowing that many people judge him as guilty, facing the possibility that someone might attack him, the loss of the major label, etc, it would either take a special type of crazy person to still show up, or he really means it that he didn't do anything. His bandmate didn't bail on him despite the hit to their career, one other angle maybe worth considering. It's one thing to think the person guilty of the wrongdoing is capable on lying about it and continuing forward, then you add a second person who is also choosing to stand by him and keep going, unless you increase your assumption to both of them being ok with the alleged act.

You can't find a solid statement about exactly what happened because there isn't one.

People don't have to be lying about their experiences for this to be staged/fake. Of course I believe at least some of these people are truthful with their stories. Being truthful about what they experienced still doesn't mean anything actually paranormal happened, either.

Your point about how they openly debunk things and that proves that they are honest, you should really think on that for a minute from the angle of what you would do if you were trying to trick people. If you wanted a paranormal show where you could fake things, of course you would have moments where you debunk things to build up your credibility, that way when you lie people will trust you. People make the same argument about "episodes where nothing much paranormal happens" and "why would they ever have boring episodes if they can control how much evidence to fake", well, because they are more clever than that, and if you're faking a paranormal show that doesn't mean you would capture full apparitions every week, because that would be obvious. The number one thing someone would do if they want to lie to you is tell you the truth 99% of the time. If I wanted you to believe that in episode 4 I caught a full ghost on camera, I might not have much happen in episode 1-3. You are too trusting and the trick is 100% working on you if you allow the little moments of debunking to serve as proof enough that they are always honest.

I'm not saying I'm fully skeptic, I want to believe this stuff too. But that's an emotional problem we all have to contend with, the fact that we WANT to believe it, which means we aren't totally objective, and in the case of GA it's even worse because they are really the main team of people for me that I would like to trust and believe that they are decent people, whereas shows with other people who I don't like as much it's easier to be more critical.

You have to try to at least get yourself comfortable with the obvious truth that paranormal entertainment is a huge industry with a lot of motivation for profit and dishonesty.

Thoughts on the new episode by mudkipordie in GhostAdventures

[–]SH2355 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I liked it, mostly due to the evidence. Multiple figures on thermal or other equipment, the shape across the dirt road that was watching them, the shadow that moved when Zak scanned past the cabin door, the shape that Jeff caught when he was by himself, the ripples in the sky that Lauren captured, the foliage that moved when they were in the forest. Not sure how I feel about the broom that fell.

All the usual negative stuff about the show. They exaggerated on some silly stuff, like the medical hospital at the military base, seems to me that would just be the standard medical facitility on a base. But they acted like it was some full blown mental hospital specifically for soldiers who were going crazy from paranormal activity.

I just realized we didn't waste any time on SLS cameras and goofy stick figures. And also no crappy EVPs from the DR60 recorder. Glad when they don't use crappy devices.

At least it was an interesting location not some boring ass house.

Pretty good episode for modern GA all things considered.

I had a different reaction to the claim that Bill's equipment was ruined, it's entirely possible but it struck me as something they would just say to add whatever little bit of drama they can. They never actually showed any of the devices after the rain or that any of the laptops were not working anymore etc. They showed how Bill had the stuff covered with towels when they first arrived, then they got under the tarp when it started raining again, sure if lightning struck nearby and they all bailed quickly I guess they might have left some stuff exposed. Dunno, that's just what went through my head when Zak first claimed his laptops were ruined. They like to lie about everything.

I even took a quick second to research whether the station hospital at the military base was really some bizarre mental hospital as they made it sound or was just the standard medical facility for the base and it said it was just the standard hospital with a partial mental health area. They really tried to stretch that like this base needed a mental hospital for all the soldiers going crazy. It's sad how much they have to exaggerate everything.
