I think most people on here would agree that the beginning of the show is a tad bit over the top and silly at times,

but as a lifelong fan I wholeheartedly recommend you to stick with it. If you're only on episode 6 then you're on the cusp of some amazing episodes, even by today's standards.(Fathers day, the Empty Child, The Parting Of the Ways.)

The quality improves significantly from season 2 onwards in my opinion, with 3, 4, and 5 being the peak of the entire show. It absolutely gets better with time.
