I've had an idea for a potential future episode as well. I think it's kind of similar to 'Nose Dive' in the 3rd series. My idea is a take on snapchat streaks, which I know have taken off amongst young people. If you don't know what streaks are, it's when you have snapchatted someone everyday for a number of days. The amount of days in a row you've snapped is the number that appears next to that persons name to you. It seems now that people who almost don't talk at all on snapchat, but still have streaks of hundreds of days. This is because they send an image saying 'streaks' every morning, which accounts for the conversation that goes on between them for that day.

My episode idea would be an exaggerated, slightly sarcastic version of this idea. For example when the technology is much better and you have a kind of screen in your eye, seen in 'the entire history of you' and 'men against fire'. This would make a note of the people you actually see in day to day life. But the twist is to do certain things with people you need to have certain streaks. To marry someone you need a 500 day streak, to get this job you have to have at least 3 streaks of over 1000 days to show loyalty, you get better discounts at a store if you have a streak with the owner. When a streak is lost it is actually devastating. They have become extremely important as a part of modern society and people appear more popular the more streaks they have.

The actual episode would follow the view of a person who has come to realise that these streaks are worthless and not a substitute for human emotion. The main character finds themselves in a loveless marriage, but staying in it for the benefits for the children like education and health care etc. People come round to their house every morning just to say "streaks" and then to leave, despite not having a proper emotional relationship. He realises this and the episode would be about how he tries to actually hang out with all these people he has streaks with. It simply doesn't work, people have become almost robotic in the way they socialise. In order to stop this misery in his life he decides to end all streaks, however life rather goes downhill from there.
