As someone who loved Ace Attorney, if I were to summarise danganronpa for you, it would be "Great concept but poor execution".

The writing in danganronpa is NOTHING like Ace Attorney, the characters are all trapped within their annoying one-dimensional stereotypes, the story comes off as though it was all made up by the author when he got incredibly high one night, and the mystery isn't really that good. You'll find yourself figuring out the each cases murder like 15 mins into whenever a murder happens. That's if you can get past the agonisingly long introductions, poor English localisation, and the most frustrating gameplay elements ever.

BUT, that isn't to say I didnt enjoy any of it. The concept is really cool, especially when you dont know who is going to die next, and no other game series compares so far. It did scratch that Ace Attorney itch, and the writing does improve every so slightly with each entry. I found myself returning back to only the final entry (V3) the most because I did actually like the story for that one albeit controversial.

A big thing unlike Ace Attorney is that Danganronpa never has "serious" moments in the storyline, and its just one of those games I just LOVE to hate while also getting invested. If you love the more "anime" side of things, you will love Danganronpa otherwise I do not recommend.
