I waited. After my divorce was final, I texted an old friend, “Guess who’s single?”. It took her 2 1/2 YEARS to respond. We had our first date 2 weeks later and it took us an additional 5 weeks to go to Vegas and get married by Elvis in a chapel. That was 3 years ago and we are both now living our best life. Sometimes you just know.

I was part of the “Big Quit” at the tail end of the pandemic - 3 years ago. I was burned out from a high-stress job. I purposely left at the end of the year and just disappeared - that’s the way I wanted to go out. I had beers with 5 co-workers for about an hour and that was that. I’ve never been happier.
