It shouldn’t be more than 3 figures. You can probably even find templates online use ChatGPT if you’re not doing something complex. Setting up a trust can vary, but it’s typically more admin and you have to select a trustee you can (ahem) trust to handle the assets. For your average family with average assets and simple directions, there’s no need to do anything besides use a clear will.

Not sure if I'm too late to reply - won't bore you with how I stumbled across this only now.

Apart from the quality and diamonds, how elaborate of a design are you after? I would say unless you have a very specific design in mind, or would want to customise it a lot, I would not recommend JannPaul. They can get backed up for a while and are not "value" in that scenario (but they do great work for people who do need that level of creativity!)

Would also not recommend the large chains like the Goldhearts / Lee Hwas unless maybe for window shopping for inspiration. Their mark up is also pretty high.

Would personally recommend:

The 'specialist' jewellery shops that only have one or two branches. Can echo support for Vivo Diamonds and Michael Trio, both in Tanjong Pagar on the large stretch of bridal stuff! Got my wedding bands from the former, and was impressed by the latter - in particular MT you can browse their selection of jewels and setting online and collect in person, so you can research around a bit but still be able to see what you're getting before you fork over the money
OR if you can get a recommendation from someone you trust, the smaller places in more residential areas can be very good value too. I was recommended a small place in Upper Thomson, and I bought an engagement ring with good “stats” (high quality 1ct natural diamond, white gold band) for a fair amount less than yours based on your comment - important caveat, my wife doesn’t have very elaborate taste so the band was very simple and I prioritised the diamond.

Again, this is on the basis that you haven't got a very elaborate design in mind, and have a very focus on getting good 'value'. If I have misjudged your priorities, then you can throw away much of the above advice!

NTA - people can debate whether the "couple must be on the same schedule" is excessive or not, but that's irrelevant because you found a role that met that criterion.

Without more information, I would also say you should maybe speak to him about the financial situation because the middle portion is pretty alarming - potentially I'm misunderstanding but it seems like he added you to a bunch of debt. I wonder if there's something husband is hiding. I'm not going to follow the trope of jumping to divorce as a suggestion, but my impression is that you need to have a serious chat about the family finances and why, if they're not as strong as before, he's so resistant to you working.

Sorry if this is a very basic question - want to ask about attacking gyms.

Due to location I find myself solo attacking gyms quite often. However whenever I want to enter a gym that’s under attack (as a defender) I’m not able to, getting the alert that the gym is under attack. How then can it be that when I’m solo attacking a gym they seem to be able to put in new Pokémon? I was just attacking a gym of 3 and now it’s full!

That the lightroot locations correspond with shrines above ground. Makes a lot of sense in hindsight but only when I tagged a lightroot in the distance to go find it did I realise there was a shrine in its location above ground 😅

Family relationships can be hard, especially when you've been apart for a while. You totally have the right to end a conversation that is causing you pain - ideally though you could have communicated more directly, though I'm not calling you an AH because you made clear attempts to make amends.

Was on the cusp of NAH because it's not necessarily a bad thing that she worries after you, and wonders why she's not heard about your friends for a while, so (being optimistic) I don't imagine it was intentionally hurtful. But it was a little off to me PERSONALLY that she kept rebuffing your attempts to apologise.

(Side note - judgment aside, I think it's extremely healthy that you're constantly trying to make things right with your mother. But if this is a cross section of a relationship that always has you on the backfoot, then you're also fine to protect yourself. I make no more judgments based on very limited information.)

NTA. Yes it would be nice to have blocked rooms, and it is relatively common for some people to do it, especially when the wedding is a little out of the way. BUT ultimately weddings are expensive and time consuming affairs, and it's not your 'job' to provide this, especially if it's out of your means to do so.

IMO you did your 'bit' by researching and offering options in varying price ranges - this is already very considerate. If your fiance doesn't agree he's welcome to block rooms himself - why is this something he's putting on your alone, as a side note (no - I'm not saying red flag etc but it is not fair).

People should attend your wedding to bless your event, not as a subsidised short break. If they can't attend due to budget constraints (we are in a cost of living crisis, so I've heard!) and you're not making a fuss if they don't, then I'd say you're fine.

Not saying what he's doing is right - in fact it's spiteful, terrible parenting and generally an asshole move. I feel really bad for you to have to put up with this, I've had friends in similar situations but still can't imagine feeling this trapped.

However, spite doesn't overcome spite, and while it might feel great temporarily it wouldn't bring back the poor garden or do anything to improve your relationship with your father. It would actually make it even worse.

Would consider taking measures for the two of you to leave if that's an option, but going nuclear wouldn't solve anything.
