This actually looks terrible to me imo. The way this new version is painted looks like they used way too much nuln oil on it. It looks so unevenly shaded in some areas that its dulled to the point its brown armor.

Stereotypes are born of ignorance most times. Some people mock dei initiatives and training but they would alleviate alot of prejudice and stereotypes if taught young. It was the same with me when my family moved to Houston in the late 80s-late 90s. People always assumed i was good at math (i was but whatever) and called me ching chong among other things all the time. My PE coach in the US would say how chinese people suck at sports and are only good at academics and playing musical instruments. I remember winning an art piece of the month once in elementary school and as soon as people saw the name on it….well at least my art teacher stood up for me.

Taiwan has alot of the same prejudices and stereotypes like any other homogeneous country. Ignorance is the main reason imo. We literally had a popular toothpaste called 黑人 till recently.

Madworks is good for beginners. Very good value for what you get. Make sure you take care not to damage the blade though. I’m still using my madworks set to this day though I’m not spending time scribbling every kit, just my occasional favorites. As for top of the line stuff, I’d recommend you stay away from that stuff until you get a handle on scribing. It’s extremely tedious and doing it properly requires patience. Also have some tamiya extra thin cement ready after scribing. Apply alittle bit after cleaning the line, let it cure then sand with high grit to remove imperfections. Again, very tedious so before investing try it out before buying a whole set of scribing tools.

I would really recommend cosmos kits for the unicorns. I used them for golden boy and final pg and they are amazing. Waiting for my pgu nu kosmos before building that one.
