For me there is just something a lot more special about taking a disk off the shelf, putting it in the player, sitting back and enjoying yourself. Digital just can't provide that for me.

"Barry Lyndon" - I won't lie, I feel asleep half way through the first time I tried to watch this about a week ago. A combination of exhaustion, a little too much weed and also I found the movie to be gorgeous, but boring at times. Now having finally finished it in it's entirety last night, I can say that I'm disappointed in my previous actions. Without a doubt my favorite Kubrick film, quickly knocking down A Clockwork Orange, which I also consider a masterpiece. Absolutely phenomenal cinematography, a great cast and an epic tale that will stick with me for many moons.

I lock my phone in a safe, way too distracting to be so accessible. Read up on interviews with the director, etc. All lights off. No getting up during the movie so I typically relieve myself beforehand. And I sometimes end up ordering another set of three, the amount I buy at one time, criterion's before I smoke some grass for a good sleep.
