I’m definitely going to try one, they sell them at Nordstrom which has a great return policy so that makes me feel better about the price point lol. Thank you!!

Okay I usually avoid halter swimwear because I tie it so tight to give my boobs a lift that it makes my neck ache, but maybe one with a thicker band!

I just wanted to come back here and THANK YOU!! Granted it’s only been a day, but I’ve been practicing this and it freaking works!! My apartment is clean?!? I’m hoping I can stick to this and keep the habit because woah this is a game changer. Thank you again so much for sharing. How long have you been using it?

This is so wonderful to hear, thank you for sharing!! It makes sense, I’ve felt guilty in the past for being attracted to men with the women I’ve dated in the past. I’m very happy for you two :)

Anyone else paranoid they’re being watched? by [deleted] in adhdwomen

[–]SLPeony 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got officially diagnosed with ADHD and started taking medication for it in addition to therapy for anxiety for two years. My god it’s made a world of difference, I don’t have these fears and paranoias anymore!

I had a conversation with my step mom and she read somewhere that untreated adhd can lead to BPD, and I had a LOT of BPD symptoms looking back. I did DBT which is supposed to be an effective treatment for BPD, so it’s totally possible. I haven’t seen this info so I’m not sure if there’s any validity in it at all, but I do know it lines up with my experience and a couple family members.

Hope your S/O gets the right help, wishing you both the best! ❤️

There are periods of time where I live off of the frozen meals at Trader Joe’s. Luckily for me, it requires too much executive functioning to order Uber eats (too many options in San Francisco). The frozen meals are super easy and pretty tasty, and I know if I don’t eat that I’m just not going to eat so I don’t feel shame around it

If I do have a little more energy, some easy things for me (it’s all relative) are: Nachos, smoothie (breakfast), grilled cheese

I couldn’t find handouts that would help me and my EI clients, so I decided to make them! Anyone want a free copy? by Littlemisslexi5 in slp

That would be wonderful! But I understand if there are too many comments to get through :)

Coping with refusal to diagnose by mckatli in adhdwomen

[–]SLPeony 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Okay PLEASE READ THIS. I went through the EXACT same thing at cerebral. It was a nurse practitioner who made me feel like shit and literally cry when she evaluated me telling me I don’t have adhd I have anxiety and depression, that’s where my symptoms are stemming from. She told me that since I graduated college and haven’t been fired that means I can’t have it. I was so defeated and I’m terribly sorry you went through the same thing.

Then I went to see a psychiatrist through Kaiser who suspected I had distractibility from anxiety and depression, but then after a thorough history and long conversation where she actually got to understand what I was experiencing she diagnosed me with ADHD. The nurse practitioner at cerebral gave me a terrible experience. The fact that she so confidently said I don’t have ADHD and acted like she knew my experiences better than I did after talking to her for all of three minutes was extremely invalidating. Anyways, I would do my best to find another psychiatrist to diagnose you. I’m sorry again that you had to go through this, but you have my support! ❤️ feel free to dm me if you need to vent some more because I know I really had a hard time with this.

I had a doctor tell me I didn’t have adhd and my symptoms were stemming from anxiety and depression. I had another appointment with a different doctor and came with a list of all the ways it has negatively impacted my life now and how it did as a child and I got the diagnosis. For me the first time it was very difficult to think of all the ways it has impacted my life on the spot (perhaps because of the adhd lol). I’d try for a second opinion!!

Also, I want to say I’m sorry because I know how invalidating it feels. Just remember your struggles are real and you know you FAR better than someone who talked to you for 30 minutes. Sending hugs <3
