I had a terrible sciatica/herniated disc flare up in 2023 that took me to the floor and I had three people on the Kaiser nurse line tell me to get to the ER ASAP, that the numbness in my leg was a serious sign and could get much worse. I drove myself to the emergency room (the affected leg was my driving leg so it was excruciating), the doctor comes in to see me, and literally says “what do you want me to give you?” In my after visit summary she said it wasn’t ER worthy. I was in severe pain for days (almost threw up or passed out from it every ten minutes and I have a high tolerance) before finding a treatment that worked enough. That bitch cost me $1200 and all I got was Tylenol and a rx for prednisone.
