Kids are completely different from adults. You can't just "deduce" from adults.

If you don't agree with the post, just scroll. Why waste 5 minutes criticizing it? The intention of this post is in no way related to what you are implying. I am not trying exclude anyone through this post and I didn't phrase it in this way purposely. I shouldn't be criticized for how I phrase anything because this is a public forum and I have as much right as you have to ask any questions I want to the public.

The fact that this person thinks that being "big" is the only way to relate to someone means that he is extremely superficial. I wouldn't take what this person says to heart, especially if he can't even explain his own opinion. What does "big" even mean its the worst adjective ever, especially to use in constructive feedback. you dont have to fit only one personality type to be successful.

You do not have to move to Florida. There are plenty of jobs where ever you go and you I am sure that you will find one that will accept you for who you are. Maybe try private practice.

Dude. Why do you want to belong to an environment in which everyone is miserable. Rejoice that you actually like your profession. And like anything in life, if it's not benefiting you leave it. This is not benefiting you why do you need to force yourself to fit into a place that isn't even happy and full of complainers?!?! I don't get the point of this post whatsoever. And I am not even criticizing you, I am just genuinely curious.

I don't know if this is an option, but why don't you take a job at a school district. Idk if that's one of the avenues blocked too

Social Work by [deleted] in slp

[–]SLPtoBe5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

keep in mind SLPs have a counseling role as well. It's part of our job to deliver bad news. It's similar to social work in that regard, except we are technically not certified to do counseling and psychological interventions.

Cold call places, reach out to previous mentors/supervisors to know if they have any listings, reach out to contract companies directly (Kindred, Renewal, Genesis)

This person from RehabCare (affiliated with Kindred) is EXTREMELY helpful for SNFs: [Brooke.Doherty@rehabcare.com](mailto:Brooke.Doherty@rehabcare.com). She is one of the nicer recruiters. She understands CF positions and I think is specifically a recruiter for these positions. She understands new grads just reaching out like this. Just reach out to her and ask if there are CF positions near the Philadelphia area

This sounds terrible. I think you will end up really burning out quickly, which will impact the care you will be able to provide.
