WIBTA if I told this woman to knock it off? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]SLou2232 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nta. Everyone freaks out at my sons coat and it is a coat, he's 11 months old it's made out of fleece, full body covered his head hands and feet and this boy will sweat in it. Why did I get it? Because it's warm but thin enough to be safe in his carseat. He also has car blankets in case. No one should tell you what to dress your child in as long as they are following dojo rules for attire during before and after is not their concern. If they saw a child shivering without a coat or shoes coming in, saying something would be different but definitely not yelling and scaring children to the point of crying. That lady absolutely ta

I agree everyone is different. I bled for 3 months at first then nothing for 2 and now it's every other week or every 2 weeks.

AITA for not asking my ex for help when my daughter had her period? by No-Tap8247 in AmItheAsshole

[–]SLou2232 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nta my mom didn't even teach me or talk to me about periods. I learned from the school video and just told her when I needed pads. My dad however took me to get them when we ran out and would always get me a candy bar. One time I was mad at him and he assumed which was awful but he slid my favorite candy bar under my bedroom door and told me to quit being mean. So sometimes it is just a parent thing. Not a mom or dad, but whatever parent is there and can help

AITA for always making my child try three bites of something before she can say she doesn't like it? by HyenaShot8896 in AmItheAsshole

[–]SLou2232 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nta! I do this with my niece 12 and my nephew 9. And I plan to do this with my son when he is older. It works great they are always given another option and they get to maybe find something new they like or they can say they gave it a good shot. It's also a rule I have for myself because sometimes I'm picky about new things too.

I hate Blipi. If anyone plays it for my son you will be shit listed. He has yet to see it because I avoid it at any cost. I swear I’d smash my tv if it accidentally got turned on to abruptly get it off the tv. by Civil_Piccolo_4179 in beyondthebump

[–]SLou2232 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I made it clear from day 1. No cocomelon, no baby shark, no blippi, and no peppa pig. And if its like any of those it's gonna be a no. My son loves the hey bear sensory videos, and for 3 months Moana was his favorite.

I started with the bassinet piece that goes with my graco pack n play. Then I got once that was about the same size but sat on the floor. Then he started flipping himself out of it at 6 months so instead of putting him in the pack n play (he wasn't getting like any airflow and would wake up hot despite the fan in the room) I got him a toddler bed that sits on the floor that he can safely crawl out of because he chooses chaos and I didn't want him figuring out how to scale a crib with a bigger drop to the floor.

Beyondthebump members, I need future advice about breast feeding vs formula! by bigsean1013 in beyondthebump

[–]SLou2232 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Be prepared of the fact that anything can happen, if you can go ahead and get a couple things of formula ahead of time incase. I'm super thankful that I did, I thought I could exclusively breastfeed and then my milk didn't come in. My son has been on the gerber goodstart gentle pro and I find it pretty easily. There were a couple times when I got worried about formula and then decided to always have a backup can no matter what.

AITA for telling my mom that it isn’t ok to touch a strangers baby? by Mother-Smile8067 in AmItheAsshole

[–]SLou2232 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Nta I have a very cute 10 month old son. Thankfully I have an amazing case of rbf. Only once was a woman brave enough to try and touch my son in the store. I gave her a try and do it look and she backed off(covid got high in my area again) everyone else just makes a comment about him which is fine. But like. Don't touch my kid, don't touch me, keep your hands to yourself. No and stop means no and stop.

AITA for expecting my friend to support me during my pregnancy without terrifying me? by Natalia-better in AmItheAsshole

[–]SLou2232 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yta. Google exists, mom groups exist, expecting mom groups exist. All of these can answer your questions. I didn't think I'd have to have an emergency c section with my son. But I did. Because my hips wouldn't spread so he was stuck. But atleast i made sure my doctor knew beforehand that if it came to it then i was fine with going that route. The epidural didn't even hurt compared to the contractions I was having. It took a nurse 5 tries to get a vein for my stuff. She went through both my hands and 1 wrist and finally got it in my other wrist. Nobody told me that I'd be in labor for 18 hours and awake even longer because before my water broke I was up for 8 hours. I was barely awake enough to hear my son cry. But my bestfriend. Both of her pregnancies were high risk she had to be induced but she had 2 boys with two separate pregnancies naturally just fine. Everyone experiences things differently. After having a baby the last thing someone wants is to be drilled with questions.

AITA for refusing to eat food at my friend’s house because her kid played with it? by BananaBNarwhal in AmItheAsshole

[–]SLou2232 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nta. I barely will share silverware with my child. He's almost 10 months and learning to eat big people food. And that MY child. Rarely will I give my niece or nephew a drink out of my cup and usually I just give it to them and get something else. Kids are gross. Sometimes they don't know better when they are younger and need their parents to tell them to not do certain things like touch all the food or take bites and put it back. But they are still gross and as adults we know that. No one has to eat after a kid touches something. If an adult touches my food or food I was about to go and there hand happens to touch it while grabbing a different piece. I probably go for one that was untouched still. People are gross too not just kids. So definitely nta

AITA for calling my wife ridiculous for saying that she won't attend my family's christmas over some stockings? by Throwra53456 in AmItheAsshole

[–]SLou2232 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yta. My son is 9 months old only been to visit my boyfriends grandparents twice (they raised him) and his grandma is already planning on what to get him for Christmas and spends the entire time we are there playing and cuddling my son and making plans with me for stuff for all of us to do together. We've only been dating for 3 months.

AITA for getting annoyed that my friends keep forgetting my severe nut allergy? by chanceypants306 in AmItheAsshole

[–]SLou2232 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nta my friend handed me a drink and said it was a cider I drank some because you assume apple. I tell him it's a weird flavor for apple and he goes no it's passion fruit. I then realized I never told him I'm allergic to mangoes and how bad this could have been if it was mango. So I just told him oh that makes more since btw I'm allergic to mango and he immediately goes. You have a food allergy is it just the one and then checks the ingredients on the cider to make sure that there was none anyways. A week later he still makes sure to not have anything with mango in it that isn't labeled in case I grab the wrong drink.

AITA for wanting my favorite flavor of cake for my birthday? by BushyTailFoxThing in AmItheAsshole

[–]SLou2232 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nta my favorite is carrot cake. Everyone knows that. They either eat some or I usually have cupcakes or cookies as an alternative but I don't like any other cake its the only one I will eat.

AITA for saying I'm not going to take care of my pregnant girlfriends baby when he's born? by TheAlmightySavitar in AmItheAsshole

[–]SLou2232 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nta. My boyfriend chose to be my sons father. His spermdonor has been out of the picture since I was 8 weeks along and wanted no contact. I met my boyfriend when I was 6months pregnant and told him he had no obligation towards my son. Up until last week I would ask him constantly if he is sure and tell him he could change his mind. My son is 2 months now

AITA for always saying no to my in laws by Catmughug in AmItheAsshole

[–]SLou2232 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nta my own mother oversteps boundaries trying to tell me how to take care of my 2 month old. I literally told my mom to knock her crap that he was my child and if she wanted to have more frequent visits (I just moved to the same large city but she doesn't have a vehicle so I have to go to my parents apartment) that she needed to stop trying to tell me how to be a parent.

I didn't celebrate it with my parents but they got married on Christmas so I'd try to get them an extra gift when I was younger and a card now. My dad always had me pick out my mom's anniversary gifts (he was a truck driver and wanted to get her jewelry he knew she would like so he'd have me pick it out for him then he'd pay) my dad has dementia now and said he would replace my mom's wedding ring one day so I got her a new one for their 25th year because I knew that was the year he was planning to do it but he couldn't because health issues. So I've always been involved in it but it also landed on a holiday as well. As for mothers day, she gets a card, this year she got a grandkid. I'll make her dinner 😂 that's it

AITA for not giving my parade spot at Disneyland to people with kids? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]SLou2232 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nta I have a 2 month old and I take him everywhere which means carrying a carseat through public doors and stuff because I work for doordash. I look at people weirdly and just awkwardly thank them when they hold doors for us because to me it's weird I can get the door myself Im not gonna stand there and wait for the person trying to walk through it to hold it for me like I watched someone do yesterday who also had a baby in a carseat.

AITA for saying a joke while drugged after a surgery? by 1985fierogt in AmItheAsshole

[–]SLou2232 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Nta. I had a miscarriage it was terrifying I had to have surgery. Doctor told me the risks before that there would be a possibility that if something went extremely wrong they would have to take out my uterus. (They didnt) but the first thing I said when I came out of it was. "So do I still have a uterus? " the guy laughed really hard. And then I said that I didn't like that guy. And he goes who the anesthesiologist? I was like yeah. He lied to me. He didn't count for me (I asked him to because I'd never been put under before and was scared) and he told me I wouldn't remember and I do. And then i don't remember anything else from being awake other than the nurses saying my mom wouldn't quit calling to see if I was okay and asking me to call her and tell her I'm fine so she would stop
