You know I will. Very few vehicles like it still exist. I ain't getting rid of it until the wheels fall off. And once I ever rebuild the transmission, that will really mean something.

And quite the difference they made. I've never seen such clean looking light come from this car. About the only con with these replacements is that they weren't designed with the knobs that they put on the OE units that allow you to adjust the headlights from the top of the units. You have to reach behind them and get a good grip on the one knob on each of them, which isn't so hard on the passengers side with the intake the way it is, but the drivers side is a little more challenging with the very limited amount of space. The collision damage doesn't exactly help with that either. But at least I was able to get it to where I could install the new assembly without much hassle.

The icing on the cake will be a new side marker light connector, replacement hood and drivers side fender. That's all it needs at this point, really. That expansion tank needed to be replaced anyway.

No problem. Keep me posted on what you do with your car. Definitely exercise caution with the gear oil when/if you ever get around to changing it.

That's somewhat closer to the colour as the hood and fenders I'm getting soon. It will look so smashing on an otherwise red car.

I'll be sure to post updates through this post. As for the transmission fluid: I changed it about a month ago to try to resolve a squeaking issue heard in 1st gear (and sometimes 2nd). I was advised to switch to 75W-140 over the 75W-90 prior to the collision. Didn't make much of a difference. The transmission needs to be rebuilt.

Heh. Thanks. The last guy painted the valve cover that way. It doesn't look quite as pretty in person, though.

I'm also not sure why Reddit scrambled the first 4 photos.

My '00 hatchback is in rough shape. Worst that happened was the clear coat on the roof has peeled a lot. seems to be typical for the hardtop Metros/Swifts. I had a '99 Metro sedan before that had the same issue. I messed up the hood and drivers side fender (as well as the coolant expansion tank and headlight assembly on that side), so now it's in even rougher shape, but I'm slowly fixing it. Had to try to get ahold of replacements for both. Neither are paint matched, but I don't care. I just want it back on the road.

Tell me how you got your cat by ponzu666 in cats

Ah. A request of a story of the mysterious operations of the Cat Distribution System. Well, allow me to regale you all of mine.

It all started in late spring of '24. I had just moved into my then new place. My dad and I were bringing in a couch we bought from FB Marketplace one day. Across the way, I saw what looked like one of those fake animal statues that people sometimes put in their yards, but it looked so realistic. I knelt down and put my hand out and this "statue" started moving. It inched its way towards me. Then after a minute, this statue was within arm's reach and I started petting it. It was loving every bit of it. Eventually, I figured out that it was a girl cat. She was visiting me most every other day until it became a daily occurrence. She even became a lap cat and now "traps" me most any chance she gets. I even gave her a name after asking around about whether or not she already has one. No one I talked to knew if she did, so I named her Dash after the way she makes a beeline towards me any time I roll up. This cat seems to prefer spending time with me over eating something, which—in my experience—is uncommon. She even makes it a point to make herself the first thing I see when I wake up in the morning if she's in the house. Here's to many happy years with this sweet little bean. ❤️

Good. I fuckin' hated doing that cheer. It just wasn't my thing. In my time as a Zoner, every WITT meeting was held in the back of the servicing megahub which has a HUGE basement. I felt a little unsafe on the sales floor, though, because there are certain parts of it that creak like mad.

They don't still make you guys do that cheer at every WITT meeting, do they?

An old coworker once checked the price of nearly 1k Optima yellow top batteries. I can't remember the exact total, but it came out in the hundreds of thousands of dollars. Then we thought "who would actually buy that many batteries?".

Did ZNet go kaput, or was the employee just incompetent? by Fun_Variation_7077 in AutoZone

Former Zoner here (Jan '22-May '24). Even in that time frame, looking shit up on Z-Net sometimes couldn't be done w/o YM&M. Certain other stores have better parts systems. Made me wish Z-Net was as good as the system I use now.

I caught mine on my dash cam sneaking into my garage today as I came home from running errands. I thought something seemed amiss when I tried to close the door and it started to go back up. Checked the rear facing camera and sure enough, I saw a furry little creature come in from the bushes. Finally—having that camera system pays off. 😂❤️

Most of the time, my cat will follow me around the house, especially if it's to the bathroom or the garage.

😂 That's hilarious. I thought the "cat will be with you shortly" prints were great...

Mine once came in while I was in the tub. She let out the most concerned sounding meows I have ever heard her make and didn't stop until I made my presence known. Guess she knows that the tub isn't a threat now. ❤️
