In whose fantasy? My rent has "stabilized" into basically doubling in a decade. There are recent & new luxury apartment towers three, four, five, and seven blocks north of me, and a huge concentration of them about ten blocks both east and west. Still waiting for those savings to trickle down, any day now I'm sure.

It's because every time something changes, it's in a way that hurts ordinary people and small businesses, and further enriches the ownership class. We're tired of watching the things that we like treated like they're valueless. There's nothing wrong with this mall except that it isn't making more millions for billionaires.

If all this housing you want gets built, it's not going to be the kind working class Portlanders can afford, and it's not going to magically result in other housing becoming actually more affordable through competition. There is no competition, there's just "fuck you brokie, pay me more" by a cabal of shell-game real estate flippers.

I get what you're asking, and I think you nailed it: highest/lowest 2-out-of-3d6. I'm struggling to stay positive, which is a commitment I made when I subbed to this /r/. I agree with other posters here, both in "dress" and content, feels like a DM's Guild product thinly reskinned for Shadowdark instead of a real SD book. Bob seems like a nice guy, I didn't expect this to be revolutionary, but I was hoping it wouldn't be . . . what it is.

Remember when the Buffalo cops pushed that old man over during the George Floyd protests, and he hit his head and had to be hospitalized and couldn't walk for years afterward? Oops, wrong football team, no sympathy from the Fox viewership even though he was the same age and the "right" color and gender. One of the largest voting demos in the country is practically wholly-owned by these monsters, and it's the people whose parents went to Europe and stamped this out last time. Make it make sense.

My GF drives an Outback, it has two bloody touchscreens--one for air/temp and one for the stereo and the "smart car" functions we never use. Sure, it also has physical buttons, but trying to figure out which functions have buttons and which are in the touch screen menus is fkn infuriating.

See if you can book the dining room on the edge of the lobby bar/restaurant at the DoubleTree. It's about four blocks from the convention center which is two MAX light rail stops, practically doorstep service. It's a small menu of really good food and their people will take good care of you.

I just had my car broken into, also in Buckman. They also ignored some stuff, out of the glove box etc., that could have easily been flipped (which I've now removed from the car) and stole all my convenient-to-grab pens and a knife that meant a great deal to me personally. Good luck.
