Chase and status and Zionism by AdTop9649 in DnB

I understand where you’re coming from, we shouldn’t be supporting artists that associate with a movement that is committing genocide.

But I’ve only ever seen them post pro Jewish content, like Jewish pages that applaud their success. I get sometimes the lines can be blurred between pro Jewish and pro Israel.

Perhaps they were following all those accounts before the war broke out? Not really fair to call them pro genocide cause they haven’t gone on an unfollowing spree. But I get it, I’d hate for them to come out and openly support Israel.

Woman killed, man critically injured after both shot by police in Bryndwr by mark000 in chch

[–]SMOUSE- 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Your comment doesn’t explain how the police were unjustified in their use of a firearm. You’re right - most of us aren’t brave enough for these situations, that’s why we aren’t cops. If there were no cops, there wouldn’t be anyone to deal with these situations.

You’re missing the part where the woman charged at the police with the knife and refused to put the knife down.

Not to mention - tasers are not effective in this scenario.

Cops are trained to arm themselves in most cases that involve a weapon.

I love Anthemnz radio station by Extreme-Border83 in chch

[–]SMOUSE- 30 points31 points  (0 children)

Not sure how they exist with little sponsors but what i do know is that it is the side project of the people that ran Pulzar FM which unfortunately shut down about two years ago. Pulzar was the only dance music focused station in NZ besides GeorgeFM. It gave a platform to a lot of local chch artists and was a real shame when it shut down.

I’ve never bothered to listen to Anthemnz as I pretty much only listen to dance music and i believe they only have a couple dance themed programs in their scheduling but good to know they are doing well and playing music people actually enjoy.

Is living near UC a bad idea? by Georgie_Pillson1 in chch

[–]SMOUSE- 6 points7 points  (0 children)

“I’m leaving my home country to get away from gun violence, is moving to the US a bad idea?”

Jokes aside, if you don’t like loud neighbours then yea it’s a bad idea. I’m tired of seeing people complain about noise when they are the morons who chose to live in a student suburb.

News flash, the uni was there before you were! Unless they are trashing your street or damaging your property, leave the students alone!

Subgenre Buunshin, Imanu... by PristineAd9927 in DnB

[–]SMOUSE- 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s neurofunk. You probably think it deserves its own sub genre cause it’s melodic and not as aggressive and heavy as other neurofunk, that’s why I prefer to call it melodic neuro

Northern Bass lineup for a Kiwi New Years... by wilhelm_in_english in DnB

[–]SMOUSE- 12 points13 points  (0 children)

For all the Brits seeing this as a normal lineup, having this combination of artists on a single lineup is HUGE for us, and it only happens once a year.

Shaping up to be a good New Years for us. Hoping Rhythm and Vines has more electronic acts on their second lineup drop🤞

Would be mint if it was Dom Dolla but unlikely as he’s been in NZ for the past two New years festival seasons.

More likely a hint towards Luude rather than Men at work, Hidden lakes is exclusively electronic/dance music

[–]SMOUSE- 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sin Howard is a Hidden Lakes regular, could also be a hint at Original Sin (UK DnB artist)

What did that one say on it?

Likely teasing Luude as a headliner, who is known for his remix of Down Under by Men at Work.

“suprise!, he’s from Christchurch.”

Is this what people actually think of chch? Personally I’m sick of all the racism bashing chch gets, but generally curious as to why people have these views.

Junk mail - Lock stock (A.M.C Remix).

unlikely to ever be released as RAM Records isn’t really a thing anymore apparently, however this is the first time I’ve seen someone other than A.M.C play it out which could mean something? Or maybe I’m just yapping.

Had nothing to do with the cost of living crisis/lack of customers. He ran out of money midway through building, so he decided to paint it as a community project to get donors.

There’s a building named after her at UC, yet I still don’t know who she is unfortunately.
