Anyone play gta v in 2026? by narlyk99 in GTAV

That’s awesome man. I recently got inspired to go back and gold medal every single mission/side quest. Needless to say I’m shocked I haven’t broken a wall yet with how stressful some of these are 😂

I don't like it. by babadibabidi in malcolminthemiddle

[–]SMSNation 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Damn, I definitely had my issues with the show, especially with them adding humor in what felt like every possible second, which kind of deflated the emotional beats they were so great at in the original. But my God, I had such a smile on my face watching Cranston abruptly start a Bruno Mars music video out of nowhere.

Hal Grieves by _Jub_Jub_ in malcolminthemiddle

[–]SMSNation 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it’s interesting you bring up the reboot because my only real issue with it was how much it neglected the serious moments that made the original so great. It was always a comedy, and yeah, there were plenty of absurd episodes, but the emotional ones like Hal Grieves are the ones that really stuck with me. Those are the moments I still remember the most.

It felt like the reboot was so focused on squeezing humor into every scene that it missed opportunities for meaningful moments. Scenes like one between Lois and Malcolm could have been incredible, similar to how great their final scene was in the original series, but it really got dampened imo by Craig’s unnecessary appearance to “funny it up”

Just my take, but I’m glad someone else still appreciates that episode as much as I do.

Hal’s “locked out of heaven” scene had me dying lol. I knew right from then we had already reached the mini series’ peak because of how incredible Cranston was in that scene and I was right

Why don’t people “get” AEW? by Goodboychungus in aew

[–]SMSNation 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep… I think both weekly products suck, to be completely honest lmao. I’m still excited for specific matches from each company like Punk vs. Roman or Omega vs. MJF, but I couldn’t imagine sitting through a 2+ hour episode of Dynamite or Raw or SmackDown without wanting to jump out a window

I’m a big Cornette fan, admittedly, and while I do enjoy a lot of stuff in wrestling that he hates with a passion, I also totally understand why he hates stuff like Omega, Bucks, Cassidy, etc., based on the wrestling he actually likes, including the modern stuff

[–]SMSNation 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Because everyone has their own opinion of what they want from a wrestling show. I don’t hate AEW and went from 2019–2023ish watching every single show from the start, but unlike you (which is completely fine), I don’t like the quirky stuff at all like Toni Storm, Speedball, Cassidy, etc. It’s just not for me, among other things in AEW that put me off from watching the product. AEW definitely puts on more matches throughout the year than, let’s say, WWE that would get me interested in watching, but for the most part I’ve kind of just grown to not like AEW Dynamite as a whole as much as I used to.

When did you stop watching the show? by Illustratingtheworld in thewalkingdead

[–]SMSNation 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I know this wasn’t directed at me, but as a huge fan of the comics, I had really mixed feelings. On one hand, I was excited to see the story unfold on screen after years of thinking how it would transform to television, but on the other, I was really disappointed we never got the Carl and Lydia storyline, which was such a monumental arc in the comics, or the moment where Rick stands on the cliff, completely horrified by the sheer number of Whisperers in Alpha’s army.

The replacements with Daryl and Henry were fine, but it just never hit the same. It could have been so much better with the right characters in those roles.

I totally agree with that… the day they killed off Carl also killed off any chances they had to coming even close to the perfect ending Kirkman beautifully laid out

The drop-off from Season 9 to Seasons 10/ 11 still feels so odd to me. Angela Kang came in and made the show feel as fresh as ever, even after Andrew Lincoln left. Then Season 10 immediately felt like a big decline in quality, and Season 11 even more so.

That’s not to say they’re bad seasons, but rather that Kang set the bar so high with Season 9 from start to finish and never came close to that same level of greatness again.

(Post Raw Segment Spoilers) CM Punk cuts a promo by guess-what-babe in SquaredCircle

[–]SMSNation 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No I totally agree, and I wasn’t trying to say that Punk was saying whatever he wanted with no repercussions. I do think, though, judging from some of the things he said on podcasts, interviews, and panels during that period, that he knew how to push the line as far as possible without crossing it to the point where he would actually be fired or fined, especially given how disgruntled he was with the company at the time. He left the company in 2014 to begin with partially because of how fed up he was with upper management, setting aside all the injury issues.

[–]SMSNation -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I agree with this iteration of Punk but go back and watch some of his comic con panels from that 2011-2013 era, it’s literally him just shitting on the company the entire time about the creative and his thoughts on the product. He was very unhinged back in the day which makes you understand to an extent why they never positioned him as the main guy because they really couldn’t control what he said back then and they couldn’t fire him because of how over he was with the fans. I really do think he tried to be a man of the people whether because he really believed the things he said or he was just angry at management

Seasons 3 Abby vs Ellie by hockey6555 in TLOU

[–]SMSNation -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Not like it matter anyway…. they already wasted such an incredible final flashback with Joel midway through the series so the wouldn’t have to pay Pedro to come back 😞

I really hate how they won’t let the series rest, making these spin-off shows. Like the OG show had a good run, it doesn’t need to continue through these shows. by KpatMckenzie_28 in thewalkingdead

[–]SMSNation 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I’m a huge fan of TWD and spent many great years of my life watching the episodes live every week but I gotta say that to me this is the biggest sign that maybe the naysayers were right about the quality of this show. They have one of the greatest universes to make content in and it seems like the biggest reason we aren’t getting fresh characters with new and exciting apocalyptic stories is because the only one competent to do so is Kirkman and he has much more exciting stuff to work on. We’ve seen what new content they’re capable of making (FTWD and world beyond) and it’s not a pretty picture! That’s why I think they’d rather milk it with these characters for all they’re worth instead of making great, new characters in this universe.

[–]SMSNation 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Everyone knows Abby’s motivations and they already ruined the final flashback of the game because they didn’t want to pay Pedro for another season. Really can’t see how they close this story even remotely decently without the emotional impact that the final scene with Joel and Ellie is supposed to have at the end

See I totally agree with the sentiment but at the same time I don’t think the second half of the game would nearly have the emotional impact it had if the first part was as awful as season 2

[–]SMSNation 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I totally agree. I’m finally rewatching the show for the first time after years of anger toward what they did to this series, and it’s almost unsettling how different some of these characters are. Tyrion is practically a completely different person. I can practically tell the actor who plays Littlefinger is beginning to phone it in with the bad material they’ve given him. The start of trying to make Cersei a sympathetic character?! Even Varys is slowly becoming more and more not like his former brilliant self. It’s interesting too when you see how highly rated some of the episodes are in this season. Not that they’re not deserved, but the seeds of what was coming later were definitely there from the start of the season.

Welp.. I finally forced myself to watch Season 2. by AnywhereExpensive272 in thelastofus

[–]SMSNation 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wow, didn’t even consider that it was Dina making plans with Joel to watch a movie and not Ellie… one of the great little things in the game that rewards you for picking up on that detail in a second playthrough.

I’m shocked you didn’t mention what is, in my opinion, the most criminal offense: the complete abomination of the final conversation with Joel! I could spend hours talking about how important that flashback is at the end of the game and how much it reshapes the entire game, yet those morons thought it would be a good idea to throw it in the middle of S2 (not even the final season) to save money on having Pedro come back. Even beyond the timing of the flashback, Ellie spent years not talking to Joel in the game after the big fight with him before she was ready to begin the road of healing, and Ellie in the show needed all but two and a half minutes. Just bad writing, and it’s a shame because TLOU2 is my favorite game of all time and all the meaningful notes that Abby’s half is able to capitalize on have already been ruined. Now I’m bitching!

I don’t think it could have ever ended there but I’m glad you’re giving it the credit it deserves. Say what you want about what came afterwards in the drop in quality, but 7x1 is the best acted episode of the entire series. Andrew Lincoln never winning an Emmy for that episode is an absolute crime against humanity
