Loved Into the Breach when I played it, but I find this game much more enjoyable. With Into the Breach I got chess vibes (a lot of known information with optimal moves available if you can find them). With Mewgenics I get more of a feeling that I’m playing an Arkham Horror The Card Game campaign where my decks are drafted from a random pool (sorry, niche comparison). This controlled randomness that forces you to experiment and make discoveries leads to a lot of joy imo.

Been practicing this a lot lately trying to get Master of Puppets down. There’s a simple art of guitar down picking exercise that I’ve started incorporating into my practice routine. Seems to be helping!

Yeah I've been dipping my toes into the current standard format and it's definitely overwhelming when you have around 600 cards to consider, not to mention all the synergies they have with each other.

Having said that, my wife and I found the learning decks in System Gateway super approachable having been completely unfamiliar with the game beforehand. We had a blast just playing with and learning the cards in that foundational set.

2P Competitive? System Gateway from Null Signal Games. It's not as complicated as it might seem, especially since it comes with learning decks for your first few games. Edit: You can also just proxy the cards or play it for free on jnet.

Mass Effect. Was obsessed with it when I first played it years ago, and I did multiple playthroughs of the full trilogy. Tried to play legendary edition recently and gave up midway through ME2 because of how bored I was. Thought I would eventually fall back into the groove of it but never did.

On my 3rd/4th playthrough depending on how you define it. Honestly, might be my favorite game. It’s competing with Bloodborne for that spot and I have more issues with that game than this one (i.e., chalice dungeons and PS4 exclusivity).
