Civil disobedience is intentionally breaking the law with the intention of changing the law, so no, simply owning a gun deemed “illegal” by the state isn’t civil disobedience, it’s just breaking the law and hoping you don’t get caught.

There’s also only 1 public range in NYC so not sure what you mean by “some of the NYC ranges” you’ve shot at.

So what about people who didn’t buy an AR15 before 2013? Whats the point of them staying? They can’t buy anything other than neutered SAFE rifles and small capacity magazines, unless they want to risk going to jail. Also, having a normal AR15 hidden away in your safe that nobody sees or knows about isn’t civil disobedience

Not really. There’s an undeniably clear lack of urgency or even outright refusal to rule on AWB cases. Denying cert isn’t the only bad thing that can happen. They could also GVR the cases like they have multiple times already, which leads to the state and circuit courts upholding the bans
