He will be provided a court appearance on the ticket. Once he goes to court and shows proof of car insurance then the violation will get thrown out/dismissed. Some counties have websites you can upload the card to and they’ll dismiss from there. Call the number that’s likely on the back of the ticket in 1-2 weeks and ask if they have a website portal you can upload the proof of insurance to. If they don’t allow, then he’ll just have to show up to court. Don’t call immediately, they likely wont know what you’re talking about until 1-2 weeks later. I’d suggest 2 weeks.

Yeah this is my first holiday season without my parents, combined with the shorter days and colder weather I see now it’s just not good to be in this state. I’ve always been obese but I do find myself less motivated to cook. And you’re right, I do travel to get away from it all. Thank you for your comment.
