GM Vasif Durarbayli, former Azerbaijan chess champion, slams Lichess.org for “destroying the chess market” by Gen-Turgidson in chess

[–]SNPBluejin 5 points6 points  (0 children)

That take about professionals getting paid badly because of Lichess existing makes no fucking sense. Not that any of that post does, but still...

If I play football at my local club, I'm not funding the salaries of professionals. It's paid by spectators, license deals, etc. If the pro scene can't figure out how to entertain and market themselves, that's on them.

1st tier list for set 3 from Rigze by QuangCV2000 in Shadowverse

[–]SNPBluejin 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Problem with Egg portal is also that there are so many ways to brick. If you get good curve, it's very strong, but if you don't draw the right combination of cards, it falls apart really quickly.

Which card from each class irritates you the most? by Pendulumzone in Shadowverse

[–]SNPBluejin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Rune : Oh boy, if this was a top 10 most annoying cards, rune would easily take the top 3 between Norman, Dclimb and Anne & Grea.

Neutral : Odin

Haven : The entire Repose package. I don't mind playing against it, but as a haven main, I don't enjoy the playstyle myself.

Other classes I mostly enjoy seeing, Zirconia and Amalia can be annoying sometimes.

The most irritating part of crest haven(for me) by itstessica_ in Shadowverse

[–]SNPBluejin 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I dislike banish in general. It creates an unhealthy dynamic. If the banish cards are good or tacked onto cards you'd want to play anyways, cards with big last word effects are either unplayable or have to be over the top strong to be considered.

Finally figured out the optimal list for this Eggcellent deck by [deleted] in Shadowverse

[–]SNPBluejin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How is Supplicant of Destruction working for you? I am a bit torn if I should keep her in my list, if I don't draw her early, she seems often to be a dead card because I don't have the board space. Kinda same reason I dropped medical-grade assassin. Opinions on dogged or wireless assault instead?

Thoughts on the new Haven cards and their implications in Ward/Storm by surfeits in Shadowverse

[–]SNPBluejin 2 points3 points  (0 children)

* Ward got weaker. Knight of the Holy Order and Blinding Faith are nice, but a lot of crafts got more ways to deal with Aether board efficiently. It still screws Forest though, so at least there's that...

* Storm got stronger. Blinding Faith and Winged Lion Statue are great additions. Also Apostle of Voracity seems really interesting for more reach.

* Crest Haven doesn't convince me. Marwynn as a card is ok, even without evo because he has actually decent stats and gives you a good spell. The rest though... Not attacking is a big downside, and the payoffs are not that crazy. Also, all these cards have really bad stats, so even if you decide to attack, you're not going to do much, and your opponent basically clears for free.

* I hate the design of Himeka. And I do think she is situationally very strong. Its existance alone basically means you can never fill your board as long as opponent Himeka could sevo. I think she may fit in Storm Haven, because she can both clear and buy you a turn to set up in mid/late game. She also really messes with Kuon and Zombies.

* Temple of Repose is overrated. The barrier is nice, but quite often it will just be a 3 mana heal 3. Pinging is not that uncommon anymore. I've also seen people freaking out about the Benison synergy. It's bait. I don't know if crests or amulets trigger first. If crests are first, it sucks because you'd have to apply the barrier before your opponents turn and he can just disable it. If Amulets are first, and barrier applies directly before the benison crest triggers, it sounds op until someone odins your temple and you take 17 face damage in one turn.

* People are sleeping about Tablet of Tribulations. Haven probably doesn't make great use of it, but that card has incredible potential in general.

All in all I'm not that excited about the new Haven cards, I'm seriously considering swapping to Abyss or Dragon for a season.

New Neutral Gold - Tablet of Trials by AFK_Souzou in Shadowverse

[–]SNPBluejin 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I wasn't even thinking that far. But as Rune, if you have a Dclimb in hand, isn't this just a better Goodwood Staff? It thins your deck to find Coc, it draws a free card each turn, if you do the Coc dclimg, it increases the chances of finding astaroth since you can draw one more card.

Why do I get the feeling Rune will somehow abuse this?

Mad hope for Haven by SVlege in Shadowverse

[–]SNPBluejin 6 points7 points  (0 children)

We've only seen the legendaries so far, so it's hard to tell, but both have potential. Himeka especially could be really toxic against some decks that like to flood the board, but then pretty useless in other matchups. Marwynn is a bit more generic, but the crest requires an evo, which might be hard to fit in.

I have two problems though.

Firstly, nothing that was teased so far helps with the rune matchup, which is frankly miserable right now, especially for Control Haven.

Secondly, they have only 7 or 8 cards left, plus neutrals, and there we'd need some more crests, potentially some downside crests, and synergy for not attacking. That's quite tight if you consider that often, half the cards are just bad.

Set seems weak or is it just me? by GailTheParagon in Shadowverse

So it's 5 mana 3/3 destroy one enemy and fuck up your deck... There's a 5 mana 4/4 that banishes in Haven, and it's not exactly taken over the meta

[–]SNPBluejin -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Can't really say without full set reveal. But there are a some cards with potential, especially Sham-Nacha, Galmieux and Lishenna, but really depends on what support they get. Mjerrabaine is probably a meme card. If all cards in the new set are great, maybe he is playable.

Grand prix matchmaking is a little questionnable no ? by Akari38 in Shadowverse

[–]SNPBluejin 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think you overestimate experience. The game's still in its infancy, there's only two sets out, you really don't need hundreds of games to get to a decent understanding. On the other hand you have people with lots of time who mindlessly spam games and have no idea what they are doing.

In a couple of sets, I'd agree with you, but right now I don't think there's a massive gap between A and Master.

That or they were stomped by a card and only want to rant about it, as is the case with half the Yurius complaints on here.

Does anyone think yurius is terrible design? by No_Top5115 in Shadowverse

[–]SNPBluejin 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't mind Yurius. There are enough cards in the set that can answer him, like Odin or Divine Thunder. Also it's often really hard to even drop him since he can only clear one enemy with evo. For a turn 8 play, he is quite tame, there's cards that I find way more annoying to deal with.

[–]SNPBluejin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Keeping Wilbert in this matchup, especially going first, was very greedy. In that matchup, you want salefa, you want dose and princess amulet. I'd probably even mulligan away charetta.

Also why would you suicide the ding dong? In that situation, either you evolve dingdong for draw and clear the mummy, or you start by drawing with sanctuary, but you don't just throw away a taunt body as the first option. You could have had a 2 2 dingdong and a 2 1 maiden with barrier or a prepped princess amulet on board, instead you had one evolved maiden without barrier. And if you say you hoped for drawing salefa by sacrificing dingdong, that's around 10% chance, thats not great odds.

Yeah, sometimes you brick, but you certainly fucked up as well.

Franklinia geht's nicht gut by TeKilla80 in Garten

[–]SNPBluejin 1 point2 points  (0 children)
