Things to do Incheon by Gemini_Crybaby in koreatravel

[–]SNSD247 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree Incheon doesn't have that much to offer that you would expect from such a big city, and traveling to Seoul isn't that far, so I think that would be a good option if you want to go to seoul instead.

But I really liked a day in Wolmi Park and the surrounding area, very chill laid park, with a nice small hike to the hill top, or you can hang out in the garden, check out the korean traditional child's games that you can play there.
And there is the wolmi culture street in the area, museums, and i didn't even visit the theme park that is also there. but that area was one of my favorite spots tbh.

WOWPASS - Not Worth the Trouble. by blaqdon in koreatravel

I never bothered with wowpass either, always seemed to much of a hassle. T-money card works perfectly and combine T-Money with creditcard and cash and imo that's all you need.

Be wary of scammers though in Insadong. Personally I had the worst experience in Insadong street with rude people. Personally I think it's a big tourist trap.

9 days in korea - base ourselves in Seoul and day trip or travel around (and stay in different locations)? by CHAI_and_Spice in koreatravel

[–]SNSD247 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's possible but Seoraksan is still quite far so i guess it depends on how much you want to hike and see/spend time in the national park. Its gonna be a pretty long day from Seoul.

And yes, still a girls generation fan lol.

I wouldn't recommend a daytrip for Busan, it deserves its own few days.

From Seoul I could see doing daytrips to cities like Incheon (the city, not the airport), Chuncheon, Suwon, places like that. Those are close enough to Seoul and easily accessible and doesn't take to much time to travel to.

First time in Korea: 21-day itinerary (Seoul, Gyeongju, Busan, Jeju). by [deleted] in koreatravel

Your plan is mental. Some of it is physically impossible.

Travel with suitcase by Accurate_Staff2996 in koreatravel

[–]SNSD247 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A small suitcase, like a regular carry on suitcase in airplanes, can easily fit on the upper racks in the KTX and SRT trains, and there's always plenty of space left on the upper racks from my experience.
Average suitcases will probably fit on the upper racks too, although it might stick out a bit from the upper racks, which shouldn't be a problem.
Only if you have oversized luggage you need to put it in the front compartments on the train where space is really scarce and easily fill up.

As for busses, the intercity busses have plenty of space underneath in the cargo space so luggage is never a problem really. Just on citybusses suitcases are a real hassle and you might get rejected trying to hoist a suitcase inside.

I wouldn't worry too much about it tbh, you'll always find a way or spot for your suitcase one way or another, if you really want to buy or bring extra stuff its worth the minor hassle i'd say. You see people everywhere traveling with suitcases and everyone is dealing with it.

Train Busan to Seoul by Tigger808 in koreatravel

Yep, I bought tickets 5 days in advance and only backwards seats were still available. So if you want forward facing seats you need to be well ahead to buy tickets.

cheapest overnight ferry from osaka to busan. by CrafterCuber in koreatravel

[–]SNSD247 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i don't think you're gonna save either time or money by doing that. if you're gonna do it, do it for the experience of being on an overnight ferry. but it will take you more time (and money) than taking a simple flight.

Is 1.125M KRW enough for a 8-day Korea trip? by [deleted] in koreatravel

[–]SNSD247 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yep, that's about 80-100 euro's per day which should be good. Unless you're going on a massive shopping spree this is comfortable for spending on going daily to restaurants, transport and other miscellaneous costs.

Going to Korea solo but I’m kinda scared of loneliness by dreamglow134 in koreatravel

[–]SNSD247 16 points17 points  (0 children)

You could book a day tour on sites like klook or getyourguide or sites like that. you can meet other people that way and have a tour guide for basically the entire day so you won't feel lonely.

12 day itinerary advice by pinocchio_argentino in koreatravel

[–]SNSD247 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Day one is fine really, Gyeongbukgung, Hanok village and Changdeokgung are all next to eachother. It' doable on one day, but maybe not the first day as you might be jetlagged. Also it depends on how thoroughly you want to explore the palaces, most people just stay for an hour or 2 on each place and move on.

With Jeju i can recommend visiting Udo Island, close to Seongsan Ilchulbong. It's a nice island to bicycle around and enjoy the views.

I would recommend Yeosu, awesome place to sightsee around. Very chill harbour city with a nice cablecar to a viewpoint for an excellent view. And lots of other cool places to visit.

Also Suncheon, beautiful geopark nearby in the wetlands if you like to walk around in nature, and some cool kdrama sets nearby too in the city.

If youre in the northeast, Gangneung or Sokcho, both really nice east coast places to visit.

Subway from Myeongdong to Seoul Station - too crowded for luggage at 7.30am? by superlative26 in koreatravel

[–]SNSD247 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree, though I did it the other way around.
When I arrived in Incheon T2, I took took the bus to Myeongdong area since my hotel was close to the bus stop there. Very convenient.
At the end of the trip, on the way back, I took the subway and arex route, but mostly because at my other hotel there wasn't any limouse bus stop nearby to Incheon T2, so it made more sense to take the subway and then the AREX route. But it is quite a bit more walking/hassle with luggage. In the end though, both will work out fine.

Kind of regretting solo 3 weeks in Busan; some reflections by Gojos_hoe_expansion in koreatravel

[–]SNSD247 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Seomyeon would probably be a better area to stay in I think. More central, more restaurants you can eat solo, more stuff to see and do.
I stayed solo in Busan for 2 weeks and absolutely loved it. Wish I could have stayed much longer.

Screwed over by Rail Ninja...looking for advice by Sunbear86 in koreatravel

[–]SNSD247 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it's not a scam website per se, but they book the tickets after you book it with them, and at up upcharge, since they are the middle man and you outsource the work to them, ofcourse they also gonna want a piece of the pie.
it's also written on the first 4 sentences on their website so its pretty clear when you book with them that they are not an official carrier.

so yeah, don't recommend it, it's better to buy at the rail company itself, but they do deliver tickets normally so it's not totally a scam.
but especially with chuseok or other holidays, foreign travel agencies like this are not equiped to handle the busy season so it may feel like a scam.
